I wasn't looking for it

I was looking at Sky catch up and it was there so I thought lets give it a whirl.

It has certainly made me more sympathetic towards her - wow

She came across actually quite nice and level headed. While giving birth she was apologising to her midwife and doctor that they had to look at her crotch lol.

Her mum seemed really horrible and nasty - not motherly or supportive at all. She even compared Farrah to the Antichrist at one point with nearly no provocation - hmm might explain where Farrah got that from.

I felt sorry for Farrah in that show - and I can understand why she is so defensive and quick to snap now.

A bit of an eye opener

Yea I saw that and it made me understand Farrah a little more.

Farrah 's book is worth a read it was a NYC times best seller if you want to understand a little bit more about the reasons for her hard faced outlook on life and why she is the way she is the girl has been through a serious amount of trauma at an early age such as Derek dying before Sophia was born and to be fair whether you agree with how she has done it girl has done very well for herself .

I have into seen bits of her on Teen Mum but I think it's worth noting of the orginal girls from the show all did books only Farrah put her daughter on the cover with her no others did yet more proof that maybe the girl does just have a soft exterior deep down she just keeps it well hidden.

I have watched it, and Teen Mom. It does help to understand why she is like she is. Her mother clearly has her own issues, for a start.

But I thought she had a 'beautiful vagina'

I thought we were supposed to 'judge', 'vote' them on how they are in the house. Most people have some sort of baggage

Interesting. Sometimes hard times and traumatic experiences make a person more aware, perceptive and empathetic. Sometimes it doesn't....

I doubt she wrote the book herself, on CBB she has proven that she has little understanding of the small amount of vocab that she has.

I've neither read her book, nor seen the show. But what I've read of her mother, I always picture a Carrie sort of upbringing.

It's was NYC bestseller so I think it's fair to say Farrah did well from the book and to be fair most celeb books are ghost written so no shame if she did not.

I think they both made the claim to some extent - they sat their waxing lyrical over their vaginas

I haven't watched it but I'm all for being understanding and sympathetic. All behaviour has causes after all.

The problem is people here (and everywhere) invariably are very selective about to whom they grant their understanding and sympathy.

This is the very root of the cancer of bias.

another time, farrah's mom smacked her while yelling her to be more christ-like.

her mother has always been awful, and farrah's meltdowns over fights with her mom were always really hard to watch.

I honk Farrahs mum is more of a nightmare than Farrah is. I think having seen her mum on teen mom and 16 and pregnant it shows why Farrah is the way she is, but she is now an adult and needs to learn to get along with others.

So she apologizes to the doctor for looking at her crotch and then goes on to make her hardcore sex tape for the world to watch. What happened there then?

Sure. And it's all very well to say "get over it." I mean, I'm 60. I know I have hang-ups and reactions, base my likes and dislikes, to things I can easily source to my childhood. And it was a fairly normal one.

Its years since I saw that film. Do you mean oppressively religious? The sort of strict upbringing that impresses on the child their original sin and the need to expunge it every day?

That's a nice thought but I'm of the view that bad behaviour should never be indulged. Sympathy and understanding yes, indulgence no. It does no good in the end.

I do think Farrah and Jenna (read her Wiki) have had hard lives and it certainly goes a way to explaining their behaviour. I do have sympathy for them whilst still disliking their behaviour.

I hope they see clips of themselves when they're out of the house and recognise that they react to others in a disproportionate way and seek proper help.

We all have our demons, many people have had hard lives or traumatic life events, nobody is perfect but there comes a time when you need to grow up and tackle it head on.
