I agree. Roxy is selfish and unsympathetic.

I think the difference between Ronnie 07-10 to Ronnie 13-15 is we no longer have an insight into whats going on in Ronnie' head. The audience were allowed in to feel her pain in her first stint whether by Ronnie's expressions or what she would tell Jack or Peggy about her feelings. Whilst Dot is still around Ronnie doesn't talk to anybody else which means the audience are confused about whether she does have doubts about raising Matthew or scared he will die like her other children. Maybe DTC has done this on purpose but it does a character like Ronnie who is difficult to read no favours.

She needs a sounding board. Someone she can talk to. Roxy isn't and has never been that person.

Ronnie's still by far my favourite character, and I usually enjoy watching her tough side emerging to the forefront. I can't help thinking though that she's at her strongest when she's both sympathetic and strong.

Like some others on this thread, I can see why she's behaving as she is currently. The one person she has ever truly cared about (Roxy) has cut ties so it looks as though she's just given up on even trying to care for/please anyone else around her.

Think back to the line she uttered just a few weeks ago...

"You're my sanity, Roxy."

She's without Roxy now. The result? No sanity (and no control).

At least she's interesting, and different to any other character in the show at the moment. But I agree, I would like the more familiar, sympathetic Ronnie to return. Her last scene with Stacey was the last real glimpse of that.

Exactly I must admit she hasn't been great this year but I'm hoping Sam womacks now ready to commit and they can give Ronnie some proper storylines which I thinks gonna start with her bumping off (or having something to do with it) Charlie

The opportunities for that kind of plot would've been so much better than this convoluted mess and would've kept Ronnie a sympathetic character. Could have kept Charlie around too.

Plus with the Shabnam storyline there might have been a small chance to do an episode where Ronnie has a heart to heart with her about her own experiences of losing children in the past. We can assume most of the Square knows that Shabnam's son was stillborn.”

they wanted to keep Aleks around but the two parties couldnt agree on contract terms so Kristian decided not to stay. if they had been able to sort it out there probably wouldnt have been a roxy and charlie

I'm a long time Ronnie fan and I just don't care at the moment, the writing for her is terrible. There's nothing engaging about her, I don't feel especially sorry for her, I can't understand her motivations... this last year or so has pretty much been a hatchet job on the character. It's such a shame. I think the usually wonderful Sam is utterly bored with Ronnie, she's definitely phoning it in. I'm starting to wish they'd never brought her back, this stint has largely been utter crap.
