Just wondering who everyone considers to be soulmates in soap. Which couple were totally made for each-other and no other?

My stick outs are Stacey & Bradley, Sharron & Dennis (my fave soul mates!), Jack & Vera and Roy and Hayley.

You could even go far out there and say Gail & Eileen

I just want to pay tribute to Sharron & Dennis for a min. I loved how unrequited their love was but it just felt so natural them falling in love, and the chemistry was like fireworks! I really championed them and was left devastated when he was murdered. It was so tragic but perfect story-wise.

I'd say Chas and Carl ed. Right up to the strange live ep. They were a bit can't live with you can't live without you. I don't particularly watch soaps anymore so don't know what Chas is like now. Jack/Vera. Frank/pat I'd say were soulmates too.

Really? Phil was really horrible to Shirley in June. They haven't had scenes for ages and they both have moved on now. I think Phil still loves Kathy. Phil has always loved Kathy and Sharon more than Shirley IMO

I think Phil has loved Sharon, Kathy and Shirley in different ways. I would say that he loved all three of them and they are probably the three women to have had the biggest impact on him.

Eastenders- Dennis and Sharon, Frank and Pat, Kat and Alfie, Stacey and Bradley, Mick and Linda, Pauline and Arthur and Bianca and Ricky.

Emmerdale- Chas and Carl, Eric and Val

Hollyoaks- John Paul and Craig, Ste and Brendan, Dodger and Texas, Leanne and Dennis.

Nah have to disagree with most of these. JP and Craig did leave into the sunset, but JP has since returned and had countless partners, so Craig is just an ex in his opinion.

Ste has been married/engaged 3 (?) Times since Brendan left. If they were soul mates he would be waiting for him to get out of prison.

Dennis seemed happy with Blessing, though he did say to her that he still loved Leanne, so not sure about that one. (On a side note, it's a shame she left, the character still had so much potential and unfinished business).

Hollyoaks just can't do soul mates. Even Jack and Frankie, who celebrate their tenth anniversary next month, have been unfaithful to each other.

Well that's my opinion and stopped watching Hollyoaks ages ago anyway.

Err - about the bit in bold. Unrequited means unreturned, in the Shannis storyline it was Zoe's love for Dennis that was unrequited because Dennis loved Sharon.

Shannis was a wonderful love story though.

Soulmates are ideally suited whether as romantic partners or very close, lifelong friends.
So I'd say we're looking for characters where it sounds right to mention them together - Kat and Alfie, Frank and Pat, Vera and Jack, Grant and Phil (platonic), Roy and Hayley, Dot and Ethel, etc
