If I recall, Kathy went to South Africa to live with her brother Ted, who was already out there.
Does Kathy's return therefore give scope for him to return too? Or Atleast have some involvment in it? As he would either A) Know about the scam or B) Have also have been duped and obviously want to see his sister now she's alive

I would welcome back Ted, Tony and Sarah Hills with open arms! Though I think it unlikely they would have much impact now, apart from Ted of course, he could perhaps come back to assist in Gavin's take down?

I have to confess I found the Hills a bit boring. Be interesting to see what happened to Sarah though.

I think it would be feasible to bring him back to, as you say facilitate the take down of Gavin, but also, the sister who (as far as we know) he thought was dead is now alive and ripping out Shazzas locks

I'm not sure if it's my love of the actress, but I adored Sarah Hills! It says on Wikipedia that after she left, it was later established that she reconciled with Joe Wicks off screen!!!!!!! Would love the two of them to come back!

Tony and Sarah's mum was Irene. I remember Kathy hated her. She was later married to Terry Raymond (TIffany and Simon's dad). They split up during that holiday with Peggy/Frank and Pat/Roy in 2000. I believe Terry left Walford to try to win her back.

I'd be open for at least Sarah to return. Daniela Denby-Ashe did OK for herself in the years after EE with a long role in My Family and Waterloo Road more recently. With those now done I think it might be worth contacting her. She has become quite the stunner.

We still don't know if the Hills know anything about Kathy. Whether they're in the dark about it like most, or if they might have known before Phil that she was still alive.

With Kathy back it certainly gives them a reason to come back.

Ted, I can barely remember. He was just so bland.

Tony was awful, I shudder at the thought of him coming back. He slept with Tiff and Simon and that godawful journalist Polly.

Irene was certainly the best of the bunch, it's such a shame that Roberta Taylor decided to move on because she was fab. But then we were treated to the fabulous Gina Gold too. It's characters like Roberta that made EastEnders, characters who look as if life really has been hard on them.

The likes of Bonnie and Maria just seem a bit too glam for EastEnders, although I must admit I do like Bonnie she just seems a little out of place.

Here's an interesting fact about Irene:

Her maiden name is Carter (she married Ted, and then Terry so was Irene Raymond when she left). When Shirley was introduced in 2006 I think she was still going by the name Wicks. It would've been interesting if she mentioned that she's related to Irene who used to live on the Square. Could've opened the door for a return.

Irene could return through Ian, she doesn't need a contrived relation to Shirley to get her back. I don't think Roberta would ever return anyway.
