Firmware update?
Talktalk website states new firmware 70.37.69 was available from 10th sept
After trying manual update it says I have latest firmware already, but I don't as it's still showing 70.36.69??? Talktalk Technical complete waste of time and they cannot even advise if this new firmware was successfully rolled out or if I am an isolated case. Re- booted box, tried manual update 4 times, switched off etc etc Has anyone else got same issue? Thanks in advance |

Has your box updated overnight?
Switched mine on this morning & a screen popped up telling me what was new in the menu. Looking at the settings, the software was last updated 16/9/15 to 70.37.69. |

I don't leave my router on overnight so just tried another manual update. Still tells me I already have the latest version (70.36.69) ![]() I will leave on router tonight and check again in the morning. Did you leave box on or off (standby)? |

I have a 370 and a 372. Only the 370 is connected & being used at the moment though. I might try connecting the 372 tomorrow & trying a forced update. We now have channel logos in the guide like the BT boxes. Not sure if I might turn them off though. They look good, but seem to take up space on the guide page. |

I'm not sure if I put the box into standby or not before going to bed. Sometimes I do & sometimes I don't. I have auto-standby set to max (12 hours), so don't know if it would have been in standby when the update occured.

Thanks for the info, I have the 370.
Is the navigation any smoother now? One niggling thing that I would like to see changed, is the standby light. I can't always tell if the box is in standby or not, just using the single middle light. I would like to see the red light come on when in standby & the blue light when the box is on. |

My box still did not autoupdate overnight to 70.37.69.
Tried another manual update it still says I have the latest firmware (70.36.69) Please let me know what happens when you try the manual update on your other box. Thanks |

Thanks While booting up, it found new software (which I thought it would do), but I selected "remind me later". The current software was 72.36.69. Updated software from the menu to 72.37.69. As Luis Essex says, it looks like it may be rolled out gradually, perhaps to check for any bugs? I notice that one of the changes is to allow you to delete folders. This is good, as one of my boxes had hundreds of recordings of Coronation Street, Hollyoaks & Emmerdale on it from the previous owner, which took me ages to delete! |

I have also just switched on a 370 which I have in my spare room. It doesn't get used very often, so has been switched of at the mains for a few weeks.
When I turned it on, I didn't get the message to say that new software had been found. I tried updating it from the menu (it's currently 72.36.69), but, like you, it says that the latest firmware is already installed! I notice that the hardware version (device information) for this box is 02.03.P, whereas the other box that did update is 02.04.P. |

I'm now getting the channel logos on the EPG. Not a great feature, it takes up space and adds no additional information.

My box updated via a manual update yesterday evening
![]() Hardware version remains at 02.03.P I don't think logos are actually taking up any more room in the guide myself. Thanks for all of the replies |

On second thoughts, I agree. The logos aren't any bigger than the previous text, but in some cases it's less clear.

I find that the majority of logos are easy to read, but 1 or 2 are not very clear. The logo for the new "Talking Pictures" channel (81) is ridiculously small.
I'll probably still keep the logo view though. |

It's just a cosmetic thing, and we don't have to keep it if we don't want to. I do agree that some of the more obscure channels have equally obscure logos.

To add clarity there is an option is settings to revert to the non-logo version.

The box containing the channel name is the same width as the one containing the logo - in fact, if you flip through the EPG a page at a time you'll see that the text appears and is then over-written with the logo.

If you want the logos to appear, you have to select them in the settings.
