Vanessa's baby

I am wondering if the baby needs a blood transfusion. They will find out that way perhaps that Adam is not the father.

talk about dragging it out above and beyond..... it's an appalling carry on

Like a good soap cliche it'll need some kind of medical attention and the real father will be required. The level to which I hate this story from the "who's the daddy" element to the disgusting nature of their relationship to begin with to saddling yet another young character with a child and thus hindering future storylines.

Never mind. We can all look forward to some quality Adumb shouting at Rakesh (and others) when the truth comes out.

It's annoying that Rakesh won't own up himself. If he didn't want Kirin to hate him then he should have thought about that before messing with the results, now he's messing with so many people's lives with his cowardice.

I'm wondering if they will find out about Rakesh's meddling when they first realise Adams not the dad - they may just think it was a lab error or the nurse made a mistake at Vanessa's house

Surely, the first thing they would do would be to contact the lab and say 'wtf were you doing???' Lab digs out the report and...hey presto! Someone meddled with it.

On second thoughts, perhaps the labs first reaction would be...'Emmerdale? Did you send us a sock?'

BIB: Having a child in soap hardly has any effect on a character's future, especially men. After a few exciting first weeks they tend to forget they even have children until they are old enough to cause trouble themselves.

Most soap children have at least 5 different step-parents by the time they grow up, not to mention half-siblings twice or half their own age, some of which are conveniently forgotten (until they decide to reappear with a new head and slightly changed backstory).

All the hospital staff are giving 100% to keeping little Johnny alive; doctors and nurses do not have to put up with abuse, and Adam would have been escorted off the premises by security staff. Vanessa was as rude and ungrateful, but they may have made allowances for her as she had just given birth. I look forward to somebody telling Adam that the boy is not his.

I agree 100% Janet, the way Adam was stomping around shouting the odds at just about everyone last night made me hate him even more than I thought possible. I also can't bear the way he and Moira refer to their sons as 'MY boy' it really irritates me.

Adam is a waste of space IMO he's always so aggressive and sulky and when the actors tries to portray any other emotion he is absolutely dire!

Ha! They probably just pull a name out of a hat when they see an emmerdale return address on the sample.

You'd think that they'd contact the Lab Yesn and possibly try too sue for damages. Just the sort of thing Kirin would think of and ask Daddy about - who will then feel very uncomfortable!

I'm sure the baby will need blood or similar, vanessa won't be a match, they they'll find Adam isn't either. It's how these things always used to come out in the olden days before DNA testing.

I've always thought what Rakesh is doing is one of the most horriblest things that isn't a crime you can do.

I'm glad that we're seeing exactly how ruthless Rakesh can actually be, he isn't guilt tripped easily and has shown that he won't be pushed to do something he doesn't want to, just because other people see it as being the right thing. He has his own agenda, and whilst his actions may be abhorrent, he has more backbone than most men in soap these days becasue whilst he loves Priya, he is going against her wishes and her advice and doing what he feels is best for his son. It might be wrong and incredibly controlling but in a twisted way I quite admire that he's willing to see this through and stick by his plan even if it is falling apart. He won't willingly reveal the truth unless he is absolutely forced to. He's made this appalling 'who's the daddy' storyline a damn sight more interesting IMO.

Postnatal depression, shock, fear, grief....they would understand about Vanessa.

That is then equally a ridiculous, like Jack Branning impregnating everyone and taking no responsibility whatsoever. No matter which way it ends up pregnancies are always a flop after the initial cliche "who's the daddy element",

It's how Ian Beale found out that he was Bobby's dad after thinking it wasn't his child because he'd been fixed. Inevitable illness and finding out Gary's blood wasn't a match.

I'm wondering if they're going down a darker route with Rakesh, like they have done with Jai but hopefully not as character destroying!! We know that Rakesh did drugs when he was younger and that's been hinted at being much more than he's willing to let on.
