Check processes? The reported slowdown says there is a heck of a lot more stuff running as part of the OS.
http://www.theguardian.com/technolog...ne-5-iphone-5s Your best hope is that it is a single bug that can be fixed or a settings that can get turned off. Plugged into Xcode instruments and there doesn't seem to be anything taking high process other than photo stream on WiFi. That's taking stupidly high processing percentage but I'm not having bad battery on WiFi it's cellular only. I was hoping Vodafone carrier update would fix it. A full day on WiFi and I'm getting good battery. On cellular, it's very poor but I'm not doing anything differently or going anywhere different than when I was on iOS 8. |

I updated to iOS 9.1 beta 2 today and for some weird reason it turned off the option to download Apps, Music and Books automatically in App and iTunes Store settings. Maybe you should check yours and turn them off and on again and restart your phone.

Is the 5s still fast with the new updates? anyone experienced any noticeable lags or anything?
only reason I ask is the misses 4s is too slow now, far too slow in fact, I've used it myself and its quite a joke, so was thinking of buying a new one for her, all she wants is a much faster slick phone, I thought the 5s only being 2 years old should still be fast enough and slick etc, is that true? any help would be grand, if push came to shove id just get her the 6, but if the 5s is stop top notch then obviously with the cheaper price tag that would be perfect |

A lot of people, myself included turned off Keychain and the Calls on Other Devices settings which seems to drastically improve the battery life.

Im sort of wondering, when did the OS code (not non OS apps) switch 100% to 64 bit?
If there has been a sudden switch, the said 30% extra code associated with 64 bit would account for some noticeable slowdown. And that might mean the 5s is affected more than the 5 (might not either, as the 5s is faster than the 5!) |

The 9.1 OTA update is 35mb and the iTunes update is 1.55mb
What's the difference? I'm thinking of updating OTA on the iPhone as I don't want to use up lots of space. |

Kind of, it doesn't display the contacts name in the notification just their number even though they're in my phonebook. So it's hard to know who's actually messaging me as I don't remember people's numbers off by heart.

However, if you were seeing names in the notifications before and now aren't, it must be a bug. |

Has there been an "update for iOS 9 compatibility" for Whatsapp yet?
If not, then clearly there will be soon!

It doesn't matter if you have them saved in your contacts. On the push notification, the name displayed is whatever they have set as their display name in the app. You, as the recipient, can't change that.
However, if you were seeing names in the notifications before and now aren't, it must be a bug. |

The WhatsApp devs always seem very slow to update the app for iOS. Having said that, it's working fine for me using an iPhone 6 on iOS 9.

Same here. iOS 9.0.1 on an iPhone 6 and no noticeable issues with WhatsApp.
Switching notifications off and on again for WhatsApp in Settings > Notifications may fix the lack of notifications. |

I have a few problems with texts showing the number on the lock screen and not the contact name since IOS9. there has been some discussion in the apple forums about it.
I've googled and tried everything mentioned and also I joined the beta programme in the hope updating to 9.1 would sort it but even that didn't. Hopefully the final public version of 9.1 will sort it out, if not it will be restore time I think. It's only a minor thing but it just annoys me! |

So here's something I just discovered. Obviously you can't take Live Photos on earlier models, but if they're sent to you by AirDrop, you can see them as Live Photos in the Photos app. Not sure yet if it works sending them via iMessage.
EDIT: Yes, it works using iMessage too. |
