We're about 14 weeks away from Christmas now and the filming for the Xmas special is underway, so was just wondering what episode title ideas or suggestions people could think up.

Here's mine:
The Doctor's Nightmare Before Christmas
Silent Night
Santa Claws Is Coming To Town
The Evil That Stole Christmas
In The Bleak Midwinter
Have Yourself A Scary Little Christmas

Christmas of the Doctor
On a serious note, I would suggest something like "River's last Christmas" but we did "Last Christmas last year so that's probably out the window.

Depends entirely on where/when it's set and who the monsters are and what the plot is, none of which we know.

Christmas by the Riverside.

The towers of derillium (just out of my own wishful desire to see rivers real last day with the doctor)

In all honesty, the only solid thing we know about the special at this point is that river is in it and a brief description that it is set in the future, so when it comes, the title will likely have something to do with the real plot/villain and be nothing we could predict now.

If there is a cliffhanger ending to the finale of series 9 as a lead in, as most of the series have had (and I'd especially expect it this year given how soon it will be showing after the series) then even that one scene would probably give us more to go on than we currently have.

Silent Night or Twelveth Night would be good. Expect it will be something different though.

Might be a clue in the actual title when it is announced.

Looking forward to seeing how 12 and River react to each other.

Silent Night or Twelfth Night if this is to be the tying-up-loose-ends appearance from River.

I particularly like Silent Night. Have a story featuring the return of the Silents also, lead people to believe that that is where the title is derived. Ultimately it turns out to be a reference to the Singing Towers - where a rendition of Silent Night is being sung, and The Doctor and River both knowing that this is really it for them have no dialogue, just understanding - just silence.

Or is that too mushy? There's so many ideas for Christmas themed episodes, I'd have a hard time settling on one I'd really like to see.

I'd go for something simple with a play on the word 'time' like 'Christmas Time'

We should hopefully know the title of the Christmas Special by the time Children In Need comes around again on Friday 13th November.

I assume the BBC will have a short clip that they will show. If not, they will show a preview clip of the following day's new episode.

Think they might avoid giving the title away until really close until broadcast. They proved this year they can do it, Whithouse' first episode is in just two weeks time and we've only just learned the titles. With a three week gap between Hell Bent and the Christmas special they'll probably just tag it onto the end of that.

It'll be interesting to see what they do with Children in Need though - Doctor Who has always had some kind of presence, though it's never been in the middle of a series before. Mark Gatiss' Sleep No More is to air the day after... whether or not we'll simply get a clip of that or whether they'll use the circumstances to produce something wholly seperate as they used to remains to be seen.

More likely that they'll release the title and a trailer after the end of Hell Bent. I doubt we'll see anything else.

We'll probably see something along the lines of the Call The Midwife crossover we had with 11 a few years back, or maybe something silly like the Time and Space two-parter with the multiple Amys.

A Summer Christmas

The Doctor could be incognito and wear a Christmas jumper for Christmas.

The Doctor- Good idea of yours, River, most people wear these.
River- Not in the summertime, Christmas was never in the summer.
