Now you have all looked it up, are 3 plebs? Am I or D123 plebs? Or Devonbloke for that matter?

Any hope for a Chinese branded phone getting voLTE anytime soon? I tend to stay clear of the overpriced usual suspects in the phone market

The Honor 7 might eventually get it as that device is sold directly by Three.

You'd have thought so, but on their blog they said it isn't part of their plans.

That is insane if it's true.

I thought it was rather mad when they took on the Honor 6 Plus and didn't mention it doesn't even support 800MHz.

I can only hope that the people on Three's blog are wrong, but until Three actually publishes a detailed list of what phones will be supported, and when, and says there are no plans (which I assume means they've checked something to say with authority) then we have no idea.

So, do the phones have to come direct from Three? Or will it just be a case of waiting until the Chinese catch up and include voLTE in their handsets?

I doubt you'll see the networks support VoLTE on the lesser brand China phones any time soon.

You would expect Huawei to know about VoLTE though, and include support on its handsets.

The Ascend P7 and P8 are VoLTE supported in some Vodafone countries. Not sure whether Huawei want to leave the premium range for VoLTE or Three and Huawei simply don't want to spend extra money testing compatibility.

Going to be more realistic to just buy a used iPhone 6 (for £50).

Yeah, I was thinking that.

I think we can work out the answer to that one!

It's not very helpful to Huawei or customers though.

Is it today that the S6 and S6 Edge should get a software update to be compatible with VoLTE? I haven't seen anything yet on Sammobile or when I do a software update...so I'm just wondering if it's today the software update

I see three Ireland has released a software update but not three uk

It was supposed to be but maybe they have put it back due to the problem they have been having with the S5

How is the G4 doing? Any issues (battery drain etc)?

Might get another G4 for a bit to try VoLTE out.

Someone on the Three blog reported heavy battery drain, that's the only experience I've seen with the G4 although I'm not surprised as it doesn't seem to be an especially popular/well selling handset.

Hmm. Given the G4 battery is already under extreme pressure, I may not bother then.

I just can't bring myself to get an iPhone but that's probably the only thing that will just work, although even that had problems recently on EE's WiFi calling didn't it?

It was a problem with a beta OS and non final carrier update.

It was never a problem to the general public, so doesn't really count.

Fair enough.

I've not seen it mentioned anywhere else today but I can confirm that the iPhone 6S doesn't seem to get a head start in other iPhones for carrier update for VoLTE as some thought it might. Mine is still Three 21.1 and no sign of any additional settings in the menu.

I did a coverage checker and it says we've super pumped your signal in your area and provides a link which explains 4g and voice calling

However 4g isn't even switched on in my area!

I have an iPhone 6s+

Any idea what's going on here?

You may have 4G from 800 but not 1800.
