One For All TV Remote not working with DigiHome Combo TV please help
Hi I bought a One For All TV remote to work with my DigiHome TV and it's working with the actual TV but not for the DVD player that's attached with it? There's a DVD player section on the remote but it won't connect what so ever even though it's in the leaflet?

Combo's are always difficult for remote controls, as they commonly don't follow the sensible rules.
Remote's basically work by sending two types of information, a device code (TV, DVD, Radio etc) and a command code (ON/OFF, Volume Up etc). So if you had a Sony TV and a Sony DVD, each remote would send the same ON/OFF command, but accompanied by a different device code. Where combo's cause trouble is that they usually don't adhere to this standard scheme, so could use any old device codes. It doesn't help either that's it's an obscure make, which could make matters worse. Assuming it's a proper One For All remote?, I presume they still have an excellent helpline, which could probably sort this out for you?. |

I presume this is one of those remotes that has buttons to select several different devices such as TV, DVD, PVR etc?
I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised to find that the DVD buttons on the remote are not active if you select TV mode on the remote or even perform different functions to Play Pause Stop etc. You may find that to control the DVD player you have to switch the remote to DVD mode to make it control the DVD section. And even then you will probably have to faff about finding a code to enter into the remote to make it work. |

"digihome" is a re-badge of something else (often, the Vestel factory in Turkey). It's possible the tv and dvd parts are from different manufacturers ! But work with the remote supplied ........
if u have the newer type "simple" 14all there are 2 options: 1 search. u can switch the dvd on, then get the remote to cycle through possible codesets. When it switches off, that should be the right commmands set! But, if the dvd shares a common power supply with the tv, that might not work. 2. the later type is also programmable from internet, via a pc, they may well have added that particular model. The older type of one4all, "essence", I'm not sure about ! You could also search - or ask in - the avforums website, which specialises inn this stuff. |

..... i think the older one4all model is programmable from original remote. The newer one certanly is. so you could just "learm" all the individual key commands, although somewhat tedious .............
