After upgrading to IOS9 when I hold down the button for Siri, I can feel a mild vibration ???

Just updated my iPhone 6, tried the above and I don't have any vibrate at all? Have you got your phone on silent?

Yes, it's instead of the beeps that annoyed many. Now it looks even more bizarre that you are asking your phone questions..

Really ? Why does it need to do anything?

My recently updated iPhone 6 doesn't do this...

Oh yeah, my iPhone 6 does.
I prefer that actually, those beeps were bloody annoying.
Would be good to have a toggle to choose though Apple!

Just to clarify, it only vibrates if you have the vibrate function on. So for example, if your phone is on silent and you have 'vibrate on silent' set to On, you'll get that little vibrate pattern. Otherwise it does nothing. The general idea is that if you long press the Home button, you're looking at the screen so don't need an intrusive beep, which was particularly annoying if the phone was on silent.

If you have headphones in or the phone is connected to a Bluetooth device (I think), you will hear the beeps to indicate that Siri has been activated, because you might not be looking at the screen.

It's a feature, not a bug!

I think it's a great idea actually. It won't work on an iPad of course as there is no vibrate mechanism.

OK, but that is not quite accurate. It will also vibrate NOT on silent if you have vibrate on ring selected. If you disable vibrate on ring, it will not vibrate when you hold the home button down.

Hence why I said 'it only vibrates if you have the vibrate function on', then used the vibrate on silent thing as an example. I accept it could have been clearer though.
