Apparently Ian and Dot had a one night stand in the early 80's resulting in Dot having his twins and adopting them out to avoid scandal. The big Christmas story is that they return to the square, and DTC has found very convincing actor and actress to play the part

Well then the OP should use the character's name, not call them 'the trans person' like they are some sort of freak.

And essentially the OP is saying all trans people look weird like 'Ian and Dot's twins'.
