I don't see why. Jack po shepherd and Paula Lane are probably the two best young actors in the show and Shepherd has experience of going live - he was quite prominent in the early parts of the 50th.

Helen Worth is a pro, again having experience from the last two live episodes.

Sean ward and Lucy Fallon have both said they've been rehearsing their ++++s off to make sure they'd be okay and have actually trained fairly recently which will have included a lot of stage work.

So that only leaves Sarah and she's done plenty of other work as well.

Basically, i don't see why they'd be any better or worse live than normal. If you don't rate them normal work, then you've reason to dread it but no reason to be worried just because it is live in my opinion.

Helen Worth wasn't actually in the previous live episodes.

Was she not in the 50th when Nicky was caught in The Joinery when the tran crashed? I remember David running towards the building to try and help.

I do remember Worth saying she was very nervous about live episodes, not having done any live work since she was very young. But I imagine she must have got over that. Or Gail just won't be in it, it will all be the younger Platts.

Paula Lane also has experience from the 50th. It was one of Kylies early scenes with her trying to get money for Max from Becky and Steve.

I don't see why any viewers should be dreading it (well anymore than a normal episode ) Just because people don't rate a character or actor doesn't mean they will mess up more than anyone else

Exactly.

Also, whulst of course there not being any room for retakes and nervous energy allows for mistakes, i don't think they do many retakes as a matter of course these days anywat - it is too much of a factory line and expensive to do multiple takes. Add into that, the fact that they have had weeks to prepare and rehearse (something that rarely happens in the normal production now) they are probably more secure than when doing a standard episode.

I can't wait
Sometimes those who are not strong actors can really pull something special off when doing something live.

I'm looking forward to it, even though I won't see it live and have to wait approximately a week for Hulu to post that episode

I never like watching live TV.

Acting I mean.

It's horrific. I can't enjoy it in case someone fluffs their lines or faints.

So embarrassing.

I'll watch the recorded version.

Agreed... But I'll probably watch it live with a knot in my stomach waiting for something to go wrong!

What recorded version? They just show the live one which they recorded then so any fluffs will remain in it, not be edited out or refilmed. So, you'll still see any mistakes, only difference is you'll know they are coming if you've read the blooper threads here first.

pretty sure it is not compulsory to watch, I bet you will even find your tv has an off button.

If you are dreading watching a tv programme I would say you should definitely consider more hobbies/activities in your life that may give you pleasure/a bit of happiness

It's not actually the acting that is bothering me, Fiz for example was no worse during the 50th live than what she is normally, the same applies to Cotton, Just look at Eastenders, two of the best actors from Live week were Lorna Fitzgerald and Mimi Keene both who can be inconsistent normally. What I am dreading is the fact that the story line is just one big borefest, a live episode should be exciting and edge of your seat with a great build up beforehand but Corrie has been crap for ages now and that is down to Blackburn. To be fair it was ITV that wanted a live Corrie episode for ITV's 60th, I am sure Blackburn could have done without it but he had no choice. However it doesn't excuse the fact that the lead storyline of Callum and the Platts isn't a strong enough story to lead a live episode. It may have been better if they saved Deidre's death for now and had the wake in the Rovers as part of the Live episode, at least the farewell of an iconic character would of had more of a headline than Callum's revenge and the departures of Lloyd (who has never actually had a big memorable story in his stint) and the bird from Dancing on Ice.

I disagree with having it as deirdres funeral, you wouldnt be able to expect the actors to keep composed and act to the best of their abilities in that situation. In the recorded episodes surrounding her on screen funeral you could see the cast were displaying real emotions. It would be a bit sick to expect the actors to reply that funeral in rehersals for two weeks and do the live. especially when it is stull so raw and close to the time Anne left Corrie from falling ill & pasing away. Plus if it went wrong it would be very disprespectful to Anne's family and her memory

All Mimi Keene did that week was read a letter. She was hardly a highlight that week to show what a good actress she was and had the least to do out of everyone to do with the storyline. I agree about Lorna though.
