So, week 1 (25.09/26.09) has half the couples dancing Friday and the other half dancing Saturday.

Do you think there's an advantage of dancing on either day?

And...most importantly, when do we find out who is dancing on which night?

As there's no public vote or elimination in week 1, there's no advantage, although the Saturday show tends to have higher viewing figures.

Last year it was not officially stated who was on which night, and we had to cobble that together ourselves from twitter and media appearances (on every other year it was stated who was on when when we got all the dances and songs).

It's not 50/50 I think it's 6/9 dances.

Only six Friday night.

As there is no vote on the first show little advantage but the Friday show has fewer viewers. I think they may leave who is on when to the last minute to be fair, so they do not know, and also so viewers watch both shows as they do not know who is on when.

Ewan is out of the country till Thursday I guess he may be on Saturday.

Ewan has had only three days of rehearsal due to work commitments ahead of the first live show. I reckon he may be in very early trouble as that's not very much practice and the others probably have a good bit more.

Plus Iwan is with Ola which is another disadvantage for him.

I hope the times of the shows do not clash with The Rugby World Cup or else I will need to record.

Hate when they put the show on a Friday! Why not have it on Saturday as normal.

It's been normal to begin on a Friday for the past six years.

Oh right - thanks.

I think the Friday night couples have the advantage because they only have to dance once, although the first one to dance has the hardest job. The couples that have to dance twice on Saturday have the roughest job, with so much to remember in one night.

Why do the Saturday couples have to "dance twice"?

Sorry, I couldn't sleep and was posting in the middle of the night - and wrote a load of rubbish!

For some reason I was thinking everyone danced twice in the first weekend and because of the uneven split 6/9, some wouldn't dance the first night. Makes no sense at all and I blame the strong meds I have been taken this week - last night was the last dose thank goodness!

No worries - I hope you're feeling well.

I may be completely and utterly wrong but Kirsty tweeted 'a week to go' yesterday, which would suggest to me that she's dancing on the Saturday. That, or they haven't even found out yet and I'm looking into this far too much.

Don't worry you are not alone Buddy, I have been reliably informed that I write a load of rubbish, but not just at night tho lol

Advantage of either day - probably works both ways to be honest, if you dance on Friday then you get it out of the way (so less time for the dreaded nerves to kick in) and you get more time to concentrate on the wk 2 dance (although I suspect not much training happens on the Saturday anyway) but if you dance on Saturday then you have more time on the week 1 dance.

Who is dancing when - as they are announced on the night I would guess!

Can I ask another question - is the Friday show live or is it pre-recorded - I thought it was live, but somebody else reckoned they pre-record it in the afternoon, so they aren't all there so late on the Friday evening and having to come back on Saturday?

Terry, you may or may not consider that you write a load of rubbish, but you are always pleasant and polite and you always make me smile...

Both the Friday and Saturday shows are live. However, I understand that before the live Friday broadcast they sometimes get the audience in in order to pre-record professional dances and forthcoming musical acts for use in future shows. The Saturday show usually starts with a pro dance that was pre-recorded on Friday, for example.

That is very kind of you Alleycat, I have been reliably informed by others about that, I on the other hand consider myself to be a rarefied voice of reason struggling to stay afloat in a gushing tsunami of negative extremities, anyone would think that it costs a fortune to be "pleasant and polite" considering its apparent scarcity at times, but in actual fact it is completely free of charge. I wish I could make you smile much more often but my internet is very slow, and I can't post much at the moment.

I am looking forward to the Friday and Saturday shows wether they are live or not, I really can't wait.
