What are a few of the best and worst aspects of each soap right now in your opinion?

I only watch three so my verdict. I've chosen one aspect per soap but choose as many as you want.

EastEnders
Good:

- Really enjoying Kathy's return and it's given a new lease of life to Sharon. Excited about Ben and Ian's reaction.

Bad:

- The Carters - yes they've had a long break on screen by Mick and Shirley's relationship was resolved far too conveniently considering the way Linda was treated.

Emmerdale

Good:

- My favourite soap by far. Solid all round but all the plots surrounding Robert Sugden have been gripping. Looking forward to even more drama next week.

Bad:

- The Barton rivalry over Debbie. Chemistry free zone and has almost ruined Ross for me. Tedious.

Neighbours

Good:

- The Lauren/Brad/Terese plot. It's bubbled away for over two years and the three hander this week was great viewing. Great stuff from Neighbours.

Bad:

- The Brennans (minus Tyler who is a great addition). Mark has always been quite poor at the serious, earnest stories but the guy who plays Aaron is even poorer. It would be fine if they were given lighter plots but it's been Brennan overload.

Coronation street

Good: Steve and his dog, Aiden, Roy, Tony, Todd-ish, a few of the other characters when given the right storyline.

Bad: Awful dialogue, bad storylines and rubbish acting by way too many of the "actors" on this show.

Home and Away

Good: The older generation, the teenagers and Kyle.

Bad: Anyone in their 20's or 30's, especially phoebe and ash.

Eastenders:

Good: Generally the show is in a great place and enjoyable. There is a lot to come and the carters have been given a much needed break.

Bad: Certain characters are woefully ignored Denise and Jay or ruined Charlie and Roxy.

Coronation Street:

Good- Sally/Tim, Tony, The Platts vs Callum, Aiden, Simon beating Leanne

Bad- Allya, Lloy/Andrea

Emmerdale:

Good- Bob/Harriet is finally happening, Belle/Kirin, Rachel is gone

Bad- Jai, Wendy, Debbie/Ross, Debbie/Ross, Debbie/Ross and did I mention Debbie/Ross?

Days of Our Lives:

Good- The big 50th Anniversary celebration, bringing back Bo, Patch, Shawn-D and Belle

Bad- doing another serial killer story, killing Will off

Eastenders
The Best - A lot of recently underused characters have been allowed to shine with some excellent drama - the Masoods, Lee, Jane (even though the plot is getting on my nerves), even Sharon has a new lease of life at the heart of the Mitchells
The Worst - block storytellilng. Yes, Max's trial and Kathy's return takes centre stage but what about the Masoods, how are they doing?

Corrie
The Best - Very little to be honest, but some of the strongest cast members are getting back on track after recent storylines have seen them on a low (or written out altogether with ridiculous plot twists). I'm thinking Carla (innocent), Leanne (free from dreary Kal), Eva and Kylie (back from maternity leave and nearly at the end of Kylie's awful exit plot).
The Worst - Callum. A storyline even less credible than Des Lennis and his fake son.

Anything involving Freddie, Lindsey, Kim, Tom, Peri, Leela, Sienna, Nico, PC Ben, Robbie, Jason, Harry and Diane.

Good:
The build up to the big Andy/Robert smackdown over Katie.
Everything to do with the Whites, including Lawrence's romance with Bernice
Cain getting his groove back, though he seems to have gone MIA
Megan and Sam house-sharing
Rakesh in his wig and gown
Carly letting April watch zombie movies
Newly foxy Belle
Poor wee solitary Finn

Bad:
Angry Eric
The Barton Brother Borefest - specially the Ross/Debbie fiasco
The Bob/Ged/Harriet prison story - not working
Coke-up Jai
Anything to do with Aaron
Emma Barton's revenge - just not happening
Cain being missing ...

Eastenders:

Good:
I think the overall show at the moment is very good, Kathys return has been engaging and exciting so far, Lee's depression SL has been very well done and acted, it's good how many stories are intertwining with Max's trial and shabnams stillbirth was also very well written and acted. The show is in a good place at the moment IMO.

Bad:
Mainly just the fact that Dean raping Linda goes unresolved and he is still waltzing around and I can't engage with the Ronnie/Charlie/Vincent/Roxy/Dean love whatever. Im finding it boring and repetitive.

I also agree that block storytelling can be an issue.

You and I should gang up and give Dean a good slapping with one of Ian's cod

Travis Burns is definately the better actor out of the three Brennan Brothers but I like them all. Matt Wilson is the weakest of the three but let's give him a chance.
