Er, overreaction much?

Why? Because you wanted her to? Sorry, mate. Couldn't disagree more. Glad she stayed and sad to see her go, although it's about the right time.
Good luck to Jenna in her future projects, and thanks for all you've done for the show.

Yeah, i know what you mean. It reminds me of certain posters on here and OG who shall remain nameless but who are active Moffat-haters who seized on an innocent comment by Peter Capaldi in which he mentioned having dinner with SM and the two having a heated but good natured discussion about the show. Almost immediately these individuals began spreading unfounded rumours that Capaldi had demanded scripts be re-written and even threatened to walk off. Contemptible and childish.

Hi mate,
Yes, it is because I would have liked her to go. I think there was too much reliance on Clara when Matt Smith was the Doctor, she was to central to a lot of the storylines. I feel that it would have been better for Peter Capaldi to have started with a new companion.

Sad that Clara is leaving as she is one of my favourite companions.

Anyone else think it's time get a solo male companion instead of a female?

I walked into this thread expecting it to be full of some nice tributes to Jenna's time as Clara (as predominantly the thread about Karen leaving was a few years ago).

Instead I find a load of posts of wild over-reaction to Jenna admitting she's taken a few mementos from the set (FYI - actors do it fairly frequently, it's nothing new) rather than people reflecting on the fact she's been working hard on the show for pretty much three years now. That's a pretty disheartening reflection on this forum in my opinion.

For my part, I'm certainly going to miss Jenna when she bows out - it took me a while to really warm to Clara, in fact most of the way through the series she did with Matt Smith, but she's grown in stature as the episodes have progressed and last series she was truly impressive (and she's started this one the same way), and Clara has become one of my favourite companions, and her partnership with Capaldi one of my favourites even though Capaldi wouldn't be close to my favourite Doctor.

No. It would be very sad to see no main female presence on the show at all.
