Austin has outside contact
Well one else knew hence why he said it to James. Can only assume that Austin went to the DR and asked and BB said 'not to worry she's gone home'. It is outside contact but I guess Austin wanted to know if she's ok so they told him.
i am sure Big Brother informs them a bit when a contestant is removed. The others i'm sure have asked questions in the DR. They do have conversations with BB in there sometimes.
I can understand the HM's being told a "removed HM is ok and gone home, but what about the incident when Natasha said she knew Farrah had said nasty things about her on day 1, as someone had told her, after seeing it on TV?

Didn't Bobby say to Natasha he'd watched the argument between her and Farrah on the TV before going in? I'm sure she responded "Oh, did they show that?!". So perhaps that's where it came from
