I'd like to compile a list of devices that allow the selection of a particular LTE band (or bands), primarily because it will be useful to test out the different LTE bands that the UK networks are using in the future.

Please provide any devices you know that allow LTE band selection and I will add them to this post - thanks!

Confirmed:

Confirmed not to have band selection:

* Moto G 1st Gen (thanks to jchamier)

No idea, but you can cross ALL iPhones off.
Hahahahahaha

Shall I get my coat now or does the fact it's Friday let me off?

Flagship LG's such as the G3, G4, G Pro 2 etc. Also there have been no reports of LG ever blocking the service menu after a few OTAs unlike what usually happens with Samsung's.

I don't seem to be able to edit my first post. Very odd.

Just add them to the thread then.

I think the time limit for editing on Digital Spy is around 30mins or so unlike other forums.

LG G4 does indeed allow you to select LTE bands as well as 3g bands also in a separate menu option, it also allows the very useful network mode selector so you can select LTE only or if your on Vodafone, O2 or EE you can select wcma/LTE only and avoid 2g GSM all together.
Just a quick note for anyone wanting to use it on the G4 apps such as 4g selector and such won't work you have to manually add the code in the dialler screen.
Used it this morning to select LTE only, was surprised that with a phone that's not deaf as a post like the Note 4 and selecting LTE only how far and wide threes band 3 4g actually does travel, my apologies for slagging off the coverage maps a few weeks ago.

Tick the Nexus 6 off your list, and probably the whole Nexus lineup. You can't force bands. Also Samsung devices like the Galaxy and Note line can't be done. There's no point making a list of devices you can't do it on because there's so damn many xD

Get out of my thread, Devon

The G4 looks to be the best device for testing the 800MHz Three network then - shame it's still quite expensive.

It would be if the Three branded ROM was actually readily available on the internet
It is sub £300 on eBay etc, but from Three PAYG it is £479, madness. Three ask £539 for an S5, are they for real.

Not long ago Three was actually the cheapest place to buy an unlocked phone, how times have changed.

I saw that price too for the S5, that's when I finally thought three could stick there VoLTE where the sun doesn't shine. I can't recall ever having anything but fantastic voice audio quality while on three or any other 3g network, I've tried calls over Facebook and WhatsApp and the difference really isn't worth all this bother at all.

I've found Three firmware for the G4 - http://devtester.ro/projects/lg-firm...United+Kingdom.

If you go to that link and search for LGH815 you'll find a few Hutchison firmwares with HUK as the buyer.

That's also the link I found and posted here, but when I downloaded the latest one it was actually unbranded Europe and not HUK. I think the earliest H81510B is the only Three KDZ that exists currently, which isn't much use as it has no upgrade path to VoLTE.

Hi, you can select what LTE band you want by going into the Service Mode of most Samsung phones, just dial *#0011#

Unless I've been missing something all this time that screen now only displays information, you can't actually do anything with it these days.
