James hasn't not been close to Janice though. And as annoying as most of us (myself included) find Chloe, maybe his reason was exactly that - Chloe does need Janice. Janice is almost coming across like Chloe's mother (which I'm finding ever so slightly creepy). Removing her probably would tip Chloe over the edge.

But that's the point people are trying to make - Janice would have been safe no matter what because Chloe And Stevie would have chosen her so they want to know his REAL reason not his made up reason!
