The Nazirs are predicted to be some of the characters facing the axe.

Killing off a few characters seems to be in the pipeline according to the article.

Ooh, hope we'll see the back of some longstanding characters that have got a bit complacent

Thank you I have a soft spot for Ryan Thomas - he plays gormless very well.

I'd prefer Sol Heras back for that! 😁

I would add Chesney, his irritating girl friend, and Kirk, all a total waste of space.

If only the new boss read this Forum and saw how much the pair of them are loathed by the majority of us, then that could well be a possibility.

Cotton should not be allowed to stay in Corrie because he is friends with the writers.

I'd like to see Tyrone and Fizz go. They're dull and irritating. And Anna, with or without Faye.

Sean actually doesn't bother me much, but he'd certainly be no loss.

Imo Corrie is always at its best when we see a fair bit of the older members of the cast, and that's not happening at the moment.

The tabloids must have a template of this article on record which they bring out whenever a new producer joins one of the soaps. Honestly, it's always the same thing with just the names being changed.

I read that last night, they also had another article where they had quite clearly been on here to get the basis of their "story"

quite frankly I think it is all made up, If you read the press release from ITV it tells a different story to what the mirror is now suggesting and every time a new producer comes into a soap the rags have the same story.

I think Kate will utilise the characters that are there and make the story telling better, no need for any axing in my opinion, they have a good cast

It's pure speculation at the moment. Who knows what Oates has up her sleeve. It would amaze me, however, if she kept Izzy- she's probably the most expendable and has just become a glorified extra in the last couple of years.

Depends how true it is i guess. Huge clean outs are rare. I can only think of Hollyoaks when Paul Marquess became in charge he axed like 12 characters or something.

Hope this happens we all know Corrie needs a shake up after Blackburn has destroyed it.

They cut and pasted it from the exact same articles they produce every time someone new take charge of a soap
