At the start I got 68 Mbps then few months later I got new laptop and used a TP-LINK dongle that has USB 3.0 and linked with my laptop USB 3.0 and speeds I got up to was 88,2 Mbps with low as 79.1 Mbps
I then a week ago we got local phone trouble that was posted on BT and after it was fixed and I tested I found that speed was down at 44.6Mbps from my over speeds.
Checked my laptop and cleaned files etc. and then looked at my Hub 5a settings and found that 45Mbps was set and so I switched off the hub for around 5 minutes then tested again and got 42.5 Mbps so looked in settings and still at 45Mbps
So I phoned and told them that I was not happy as pay for full speeds with infinity 2 and have youview with BT TV and they sounded like did not care and that speed was great .....
So told them that I feel that being only 100 yard from the box and 1/2 mile from a BT exchange that the speed I got should be still at around 80Mbps ... then they said OK we can go into the Hub settings and that should give better speeds and after about 5 minutes with music on the phone came back and said that I plug youview back into hub and all other items and that about half hour speed should be around 70Mbps....
Speed has gone up for a time to 48Mbps but now the last test was 40.1Mbps so they haven't fixed it .....
So tomorrow I will phone again and see if I can get my speed back or I just dump BT ...
Is BT network full and they need to drop speeds and do this slowly in hoping that customers do not find out ?
Do BT swap out broads at the exchange to save money ?
