Radio Times - How to sort out the Blackburn mess that is Corrie?
http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-...onation-street
Some ideas in there from the Radio Times on how Katie Oates needs to improve Corrie. Some really good points there. 1st job axe the deadwood! Get rid of Sean Give Todd a boyfriend is another good idea. |

Some good ideas though I like the Platts clan . Agree with the Tony comment . Can see a few old faces returning.

Very interesting. I'm with most others - I agree with most of what he's said.
Linkening Tony to Len Fairclough is simply marvellous and so, so true. There really hasn't been a key member of the cast like this since the 80s. Jim McDonald came close but his spiral into murder and bank robberies undermined the character quite a bit. Tony is great. The show also needs more diversity instead of repeating the same types of character time and time again. Tony is refreshing because he is different, yet rooted firmly in one of Corrie's archetypes (the classic antihero). Corrie needs to look at the show's most enduring archetypes and work forward from there. The Nazirs were clearly planned as an 'Asian' family from the onset. The result is underdeveloped characters who simply tick a box. I'd love to see a more diverse cast. The show sorely needs at least two new families, both of which should be non-white or non-British. What must come first though is the characters, not the ethnic background. |

Has he been reading Digital Spy?
![]() Good article, I love the Tony character too. I don't mind the Nazirs now tbh other than possibly irritating Alya. I think granny Nazir has had some acting lessons when she had a few weeks off she's not as grating now.i don't even mind Sean when he's a background character with the odd bitchy one liner. Especially love the please stop setting fire to the street stuff

Love number 7. That explains what I want to see perfectly. Corrie doesn't need to turn into Emmerdale, but just bring a little bit of that flavour would be great.

I also agree about trying to get Peter back full time and letting Todd have a boyfriend. Todd really needs some decent material. Todd, for me, is the one character that has the most potential but nothing has been done with it. Why does he hate himself?!!

I think the RT means Kevins son Jake not Jack as Jack is alive and well.
Some good points in the article though especially Peter and Toyah. |

Also whilst no one could ever replace Blanche we do need another acid tongued old bat for some good old Corrie humour.

Tony has been a great addition, I agree.
They need to make use of Todd, give him something to do. Or explore his London past. |

Aside from casting stuff, number three is important. The lack of caring about this is symptomatic of a sloppy show.
And it's not just continuity, it's any sense of realism. Why is Callum able to waltz in and out of the Platt's as he wishes? Why does anyone give Tracy the time of day? Sophie's utter lack of mourning about losing the love of her life.Todd coming up with ludicrous revenge plans based on a tiny scratch on his cheek. |

I agree with most of those ideas.
However I think the Rovers may get a makeover, maybe not another fire but some reason to make it over as it does seem whenever a new producer takes charge the main set gets a remake. I loved what Kate has done with Emmerdale, it's dramtic and funny in the same episodes, that's what Corrie needs to get back to. Stories need to build over time. I must admit Steve's depression and that Platt/Callum storylines have built over time, just a shame the latter didn't have a better and more convincing character playing Callum. |

Todd would be my number one character to sort out, huge potential there Bruno could be excellent.
