All emails to btinternet from my aol account are bounced back to me.

The reason given is 'too many emails'. I had sent just two to my daughter!

I have given it 48 hours and rebooted my computer but the problem still exists.

What I have noticed is that the computer ID is not mine. I have a Mac, have run Sophos to make sure I haven't a virus.

I emailed btinternet but gather that, as I am not their customer, they probably won't respond.

Any thoughts? I would really appreciate some help.

It may be that your daughter has never been to the BT webmail site and deleted any old mail meaning her inbox is full.

Thanks for replying Victor. Much appreciated.

I have this problem with all recipients with a btinternet address, not just my daughter. About ten all together. No problem with any other provider.

I found an address for the btinternet postmaster who asked me to send a copy of the bounce back email. I did but it bounced straight back to me!!

You couldn't make it up!

The BTInternet mail system is run by a company called Openwave Messaging on behalf of BT. This sounds like they are blocking mail from AOL generally and I doubt it will be just you that is affected.

Openwave have a Support portal at https://supportowmessaging.force.com...MessagingLogin and this page gives their support contact numbers. However, this should really be sorted out by the AOL email admins as they will need to provide details of their servers to Openwave for possible whitelisting. If Openwave won't help you, I suggest you raise it with AOL support.
