there is a story on the daily mirror website about it.

on the basis of the other corrie stories they have posted being works of fiction, I don't quite believe it. they have also twisted a tweet sue cleaver posted.

the corrie instagram has been very busy giving behind the scenes stuff in the lead up to the live and no hint of unhappiness just people wanting to work hard and get it right and seemingly very excited about it

Reading over on the SOR thread an FM member posted a similar link & apparently some of the younger stars have been turning up late, forgetting lines & the cast have been staying up until the early hours for rehearsals.

Well the counterbalance to that is the Official Corrie instagram is going to be a brilliant PR tool and will understandably only show things in a positive light? I couldn't imagine them showing a picture of a star unhappy and angry with things on the workset? I wouldn't expect anything different.

What happened over Sue Cleaver tweet?

The same story from The Mirror

http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/c...l-over-6478745

As for Sue Cleavers post , that could be written by anyone in any job who is tired after working late it doesn't have to be moaning about anyone.

she posted to the andrea actresses account saying about making cupcakes to help keep them awake and jane danson posted you doing nights again sue to which she replid yes rehearsing till some ungodly hour.

the mirror have turned that into the late rehearsals being due to youngsters turning up late and sue complaining about it

Spoiler

The live as I've pointed out in the spoiler above sounds like it's going to be a major disappointment and an anticlimax

Has Sue deleted the tweet do you know? Often when there's controversy they do.

The "insider" seems to like using the word "grumbles" a lot. I wonder who that is lol? I think it's bad form to slag off the younger cast members and describe other actors / yourself as "senior cast members"! Obviously younger characters might have less experience as yet but to be honest I LIKE the younger cast members as they are refreshing and I find them more interesting than the likes of Cotton. Clearly the media like to spice up their stories so most of what's being said should be taken with a big pinch of salt and it seems the info is all from one Corrie "spokesperson" and their "grumbles" ...
Slightly off topic but Simon Gregson who plays Steve McDonald is taking a few months off for sick leave and doesn't know if he'll be back. I hope he's OK. I wonder if Michelle played by Kym Marsh will be axed if Steve is going to be written out for a while? I'm not saying I want her to go, I quite like her but I'm just wondering what will happen to her.

Anyone would think Corrie have a live episode coming up and they want to create some much needed publicity for the show.

I feel like this is all a publicity stunt. ITV announce Blackburn's departure days before the live episode (which was lacking hype). All of a sudden Corrie is getting huge amounts of publicity and is all over the papers meaning more are aware of the upcoming live ep. Job done from ITV.

It struck me as odd, and I posted as such, to announce his departure before the Live. Now, 24 hours later given the depth of Corrie coverage it's clearly a PR move to generate interest in a totally unnecessary live episode.

If it's not good it's Blackburn's fault and they have moved to fix it, if it's good or rates well it will give the show a boost in the press.

Interestingly before his departure the state of the street has not been written about nearly as critically as when EastEnders was in a slump.

Obviously there has been lots of hype around Callum and the Platts for the live ep which will be OK but the rest of it looks like it's going to be cr@p. I'm already thinking half of it will be just boring with my least favorite characters. Oh well. I think Kate Oates will be much better and Corrie will thrive under her. I'm looking forward to her stint as Exec Producer. I am a little bothered that Emmerdale might go downhill without her. Mind you I read the new producer for ED is from Hollyoaks which I like so it might be fine. We'll have to see

I wonder how many casual viewers will tune in for the live episode only to be put off becoming a regular viewer again?

I think a lot of the long term cast members have been getting hacked off with Blackburn and his silly storylines with continuity errors just reading in between the lines in interviews, there are a couple of actors who I have in mind. Also their have been some really odd departures from long term cast who I think have had disagreements with Blackburn.

As for the live episode, the press are just trying to twist the knife to get front page news. The actors would know that the live ep is a lot off hard work and late nights etc so if they couldn't handle the pressure they should have pulled out. Putting Sue Clever's tweet was really uncalled for, she was probably having a rant as any other normal working person would.

Kathy burke made a remark about the change in EP but it was deleted. No idea what she said but i can imagine Jon Harvey gave her a bollocking and told her to delete it, as we all know Kathy doesn't mince her words.

Interesting times at Corrie. Oates needs to sort it.
