I like him overall but just wish sometimes he'd learn to let things go!

Or am I the only one? :/
I've loved Austin throughout this, and forgiven him loads because he's made me laugh out loud a lot. That side we saw last night towards Janice though was exceptionally nasty.

I like him. We've seen all sides of him, some really appealing, some really not. He's very competitive but in an above board and obvious way and, whatever his faults, I don't think he's calculating in a sly or underhand way (like Jenna and, to some degree, James) and I like him for that.

Another Austin fan here!

He still remains my favourite housemate too, despite his tantrums. I would kick off at Janice too over the way she has been behaving. She has been a complete liability to the USA team and it must be so frustrating having to deal with her.

James in my opinion is a complete snake. He now sees Austin as competition because he was voted as one of the four housemates saved last Friday. James is now willing to back-stab his mate days before the final. James just says what he thinks the public wants to hear, all I see is him turning on his so called best mate in the house.
Completely agree.

Not any more. This past few days - he's just shown himself to be utterly reprehensible.

I like him, despite his belligerent attitude. I do think he is losing it though. I find him a bit precious and controlling but still likeable. In fact he reminds me very much of a friend of mine who is lovely but very high maintenance.

I also like James - I don't see this as an either or situation. I think we are seeing two people who like each other negotiating the parameters of their friendship.

I do think there is more to the Janice thing than meets the eye. He seems to have had a problem with Janice (and vice versa maybe) since day one. In my opinion it is this that seems to be coming to boiling point. The squabbles with James I see as fall out from his real issue which is Janice.

I think Austin is one of the most interesting housemates this series. I had thought he was going to be very interesting. I though he might realise early on that Jenna and Scoop were playing a different BB format to the others. I thought he might be in the unique position of knowing both shows and knowing the differences between them, but also be the only HM to realise that Janna and Scoop were trying to play to different criteria.

I had hoped he might use that superior knowledge to his advantage but I haven't seen much evidence of it. He just seems to go with his emotions.

He is sexy isn't he. I like Austin and James ... and together I liked the bromance.

I do think Austin is a little precious and he is having trouble in the last few days letting go. He does like to carry an argument doesn't he to the enth degree. But - I still like him, and I can completing understand why he is miffed that James chose Janice when its obvious they don't like one another (and Austin was supposedly his best mate in the house), and also why he was peed off about not getting his letter due to Janice's inability to stand still for 3hrs.

Any man who calls a woman the 'c' word can go dig a hole and bury himself in it as far as I'm concerned. I think he has a few bolts loose in his head, talk about obsessive!

I did like him a lot at the beginning and wanted either him or scoop to win but he's become really nasty and though Janice was pretty stupid and selfish to get off the rock (with Jannas help) there was no excuse to say what he did about Janice. It was disgusting. I liked him and sided with him when he and Farrah argued but now she's gone I see what a nasty piece of work he really is. I hope he gets booted.

Austin may have a short fuse but at least he is honest and true. James on the other hand has stabbed his friend in the back to try and win.

Me too Jinny- and I'm a lady 'of a certain age'! Bit disappointed with his recent aggression but that's editing for you.

I have been an Austin fan from day 1, though also a james fan too.....Austin wears his heart on his sleeve from what i have watched and if he does not like you he will not "pretend" to be nice, he has many flaws but i dont care he has been IMO the most interesting housemate out of all of them, and if you are an Austin fan, please vote as he will be needing them more so now as Janice will be up and the producers will want her to stay...

Austin is the most honest housemate in there. He never bites his tongue, even when maybe sometimes he should, but I don't think anyone can say that what you see isn't 100% what you get.

I don't think he has hidden agendas or hidden motives and I don't think he's ever said something behind someone's back that he hasn't been willing to say directly to their face. I like that kind of honesty and upfrontness.

He was one of the few to actually stand up immediately to Farrah's antics, rather than allowing it to fester for a few days. If you p*ss him off, he'll say there and then. I admire that

But isn't that tantamount to someone who expects the world to bend to their will?

It sounds to me like someone who has the mind set of if you piss me off you must be in the wrong. So I am entitled to say so there and then as abruptly and as belligerently as I like because my need to not be pissed off over rides your right to have a point of view or cut your own path in life. It sounds a bit intolerant to me.

Just to echo some of the points that have been made here. I also appreciate the way Austin speaks from the heart and isn't playing the game in the guise of trying to look nice all the time. I want to see real reactions and the real ups and downs of having lots of characters forced to live together. I feel like there's too much opprobrium against HMs that show themselves warts and all. They are invariably my favourite. I don't mean being argumentative and nasty in order to fill that particular RT part but just being yourself and expressing anger and hurt and humour as well which Austin has done in abundance when you feel it. Austin has certainly just been himself and kudos to him for that

I think it is genuine. I feel they are going through a natural process of getting to know each other, finding the boundaries, learning to accept the other as they are rather than as they might like them to be.

Two people will inevitably have points of difference or as you might see it flaws But surely friendship is about seeing and accepting the flaws and liking the person anyway. In fact at its best its about liking them because of those differences not just despite them.

To try to be on the same page as somebody all the time is very forced. Plus it often leads to am imbalance of power in the friendship,. because one person is doing all the bending to fit into the expectations of the other; like Chloe and Stevie

Yeah probably but it's refreshing, especially in a show where 99% of the time people react in a way they've calculated to be most advantageous to them, rather than it coming from the heart, which Austin's does whether it's agreeable or not.

Yes I agree with you. Austin does seem to come straight from the heart and it doesn't make him unlikable.

I agree about the 'c' word, it's disgusting to use to anyone imo.
