Does anybody know if you have ordered direct from a network like EE or Vodafone when do they start sending them out ? Will they get them in their warehouses tonight so they can be sent out tomorrow so customers have them on launch date or they get the delivery on Friday then start sending them Monday.

Obviously this isn't 100% guaranteed but they normally dispatch the day before to arrive on launch day. This is of course assuming you are high enough in the queue to get a launch one

Thanks Dave well hopefully I will be on the launch list then I ordered on the first day around 11am and have been told that this year the networks are getting a higher proportion of UK stock allocated to them.

No I'm female and have small hands. I'm used to the size. Before I had my 6 plus I had a couple of the galaxy note phones so I'm used to larger phones.

OP have you decided what you will be doing about your iPhone 6 yet mate?

If it helps, you have an ally here in the waiting game like. By the time I get back off holiday next month (a holiday I don't want to go on now) it will take me until 4 December to re-save the cash to buy the iPhone 6S outright, I will HATE the next 10 weeks being stuck with the shit, basic and cheap iPhone 6 rather than own the much classier and far more advanced iPhone 6S.

Those people that say "It's just a phone" don't have the first idea what the pressure is like for lads in their 20's to be up to date and have the latest and greatest devices nowadays, it's hard to fit it and be taken seriously by new people if you own/use "last years" gear.

What a load of utter crap. People don't know what it's like? No, we do. We have been there remember? Or do you think people on here skipped their 20's?

We just aren't as stupid to conform to that pathetic attitude or contemplate something as utterly half witted as cancelling a holiday over a bloody phone! The fact is, the design of both is identical so not one person will know, or probably even care you either have the 6 or 6S.

Far more classier? It looks the same. Explain how it's classier?

Far more advanced? 1 extra feature over the last one that the vast majority will use once or twice like normal then never use it again? A slightly quicker CPU and a jump up in ram. You class that as far more advanced?!! Easily pleased!

Are you really this niave or are you just trolling? I'm beginning to think the latter now.

my iphone 5s broke 3 weeks ago and i was due an upgrade anyway so i just decided to wait until this came out insteadof immediately upgrading to a 6+. however, after seeing ee's contracts i've decided i'd rather be with tesco who are so much cheaper. i've looked this morning to see if i can start a contract online and the iphone 6s' aren't available still? does anyone know when they will be? or if i go to ee andtell themi want to cancel because tesco give a better deal will they match it to avoid losing me like sky tv does?

I have an iPhone 5s.. I usually up rage on the s model as thats when my upgrade tends to fall...

Is it still worth upgrade from 5s to 6s??

Well I have a 6s Plus on the way. However, I think this will be the last time I upgrade every 2 years. There hasn't been much of a jump forward in the 2 years since I got my 5s, and the only things I want that I haven't already got are Apple Pay and VoLTE capability.

I've gone for the bigger model just to see what it's like. I've used my mates' 6 Plus and Note 4 and I actually quite like the bigger screens, so I've decided to give it a go myself.

It won't be with me for 3-4 weeks, though, so I have a bit of a wait yet.

The iPhone 6S runs off a 1715mAh power cell that simply doesn't size up to the 1810mAh battery in the iPhone 6, a move that was necessary to keep the device slim. So the battery is worse on the 6S than the 6.

Not true. The A9 processor's efficiency more than makes up the lost battery. The A9's efficiency means "Hey Siri" is on 24/7.

Have you tested the battery life?

Not sure that is true either. I think the M9 is being used to listen for 'hey Siri '

Obviously, as of this moment, nobody has had a 6S long enough to test the battery life. We can only take Apple's word for it.

It will be interesting to see if the A9 chip really does improve the battery life of it's it's just bull.

M9 is part of A9, as in built into the same processor.

From Apple "The M9 motion coprocessor is integrated directly into the A9 chip so you can do more, for longer periods of time, with great performance and battery life. The M9 connects to the accelerometer, compass, gyroscope, and barometer for a wide range of fitness tracking capabilities. With iPhone 6s, you can now measure your running or walking pace in addition to your steps, distance, and elevation changes. The integrated M9 works so efficiently and intelligently that Siri is always on and waiting for your voice commands. You can easily activate Siri by saying “Hey Siri” whenever your iPhone 6s is nearby."

Reading that, it does not connect to the Microphone, it offsets power requirements for the main CPU.
Or, maybe it motion detects when you are about to speak. But that then would mean Siri ignores you if the phone is sat on a table.

I assume you mean built into the SoC.

It's been as subtle as a brick through a plate glass window. Amazing how the usual suspects obsessed with being anti-Apple have fallen for it.

I think that poster must be laughing their head off.

A processor can be 1 or many parts, thus a SOC can be called a processor too.
The GPU graphics processing unit is made of many processors.

Call it what you need. Intel often refer to the Atom as the Intel® Atom™ SoC processor, obviously because they do not sell it as a standalone CPU.
