Yeah, it's too bad they can't get real celebrities like the footballers wives, failed X-factor and Apprentice contestants, TOWIE or Geordie Shore "actors", pretend celebrities, glamour models, relatives of famous people, or everyone who's ever been on Loose Women.

I would tell anyone who has not been to the US to visit.

Your list of American traits I find offensive because I can point to British contestants with those exact same traits. There is NOTHING cultural about it whatsoever. It'd be like me saying all British celebrities are pompous, bitter, cruel, tea drinking, drunks who like to pull people's pants down and expose themselves.

The difference between the American contestants and the British ones is that the Americans treat it like a job ( which it is) and play it like a game and do what their employers tell them to. The British contestants treat it like a holiday or use it to get themselves back in the spotlight.

This ^^^ We have had some loud and nasty HMS of our own in the ordinary BB and the CBB,the Americans love them or hate them make the CBB worth watching,it would have been boring without them.

I have rarely heard or know anything about the US contestants but quite a few seem to know them inside out and yet know absolutely nothing about older 'home grown' UK celebrities.”

... some people are just plain anti-American.

Yes some people are - I'll admit to being irked at having too many unknown US contestants on a UK show. I kind of like the shabby chiqueness of old UK has beens and failures. Some of the brash OTT US contestants spoil that side of it for me - I'm honest about that. It kind of spoils the flavour when there is too much of an imbalance as I think there has been this year.

I'm not anti American per se - I just think the original concept of CBB has altered and gone from tacky TV to overtly brash and vulgar TV.

Saying that - I did really adore Perez - one of my favourite CBB housemates in a long time.

I agree with that. It's not that they're American as such, it's their loud, brash personalities which you get anywhere. There's countless unassuming US celebs.

The Americans have been so much more entertaining than the boring Brits. Yes they might be loud but sure entertaining.

If all I had to look at on the TV were rude, obnoxious, arrogant loud Americans then I would switch the TV off. That's not entertainment.

If they stick any Americans in next year I think they need to find the most foul mouthed, loud Brits to go in there with them and give them a taste of their own medicine.

Memory failing? Let me help Katie Hopkins, Charlotte Crosby the cast of Geordie Shore, Helen Wood, James Jordan .. I can go on.

If you tell me what Telly you have I'll get you the instructions for how to turn it off or switch the channel.

I don't think the US housemates dominate the show completely.

I suppose they have been a big feature for the past few series, but then again I think some people remember all the louder US housemates and forget the quieter ones, too. They might create this false impression in their minds of US housemates always being brash and bitchy. It's not the case.

I would have loved to have seen more of Daniel Baldwin this series - he seemed like a very interesting man who totally understood the game.

You could say exactly the same of British housemates.
BB don't get to pick stars. What made you think they had that kind of power?

I think the problem is that if you're quiet in BB you're seen as 'nice'. Any contrast to that and people find it easy to pick fault in people.
Have a full house of American housemates and viewers would somehow manage to separate them into heroes and villains.

If there are two series of CBB a year, they could perhaps try separating them into one house of British celebrities and one house of American celebrities.

Obviously I'm using the term celebrities in the loosest definition of the word.

I have to disagree with that - I think if you're quiet, you're seen as 'dead wood' and threads get made stating 'why did we lose (x controversial HM) but keep (y quiet HM)?'

The Americans are very loud and love the sound of there own voices and they also have to be the centre of attention.

The Americans will fight to the death to get the most attention and air time.

Because the Brits are not doing this does not mean they are boring...they are sitting back and watching the comedy show in front of them...they have no need to play to the cameras the Americans are doing it for them.

Do not get me wrong I love America and it's people...but I am also glad to return home again to the world of sanity.”

My ex-fiancé is American and I agree with your points.

Exactly. I don't know why people keep watching if they dislike the Americans perhaps the Waltons would be a better watch for them.

Daniel was an early favourite of mine and seemed to be one of the more reasonable Americans to be on the show. He obviously wasn't loud and obnoxious enough.

I watch because it is UKBB. I don't watch BBUSA. I don't mind the odd American on the show but they have ruined this CBB. I hope it isn't repeated.

I think the issue is the Production Team and the tasks they set up to cause the maximum amount of trouble, think back to the .hit stirring they did from the start making the Americans slaves to the UK Team that was the start Of their stirring. They cast the show knowing the sort of loud confident Americans they were bringing in and they will be pleased that their plan worked.

the Yanks will go home and be forgotten apart from discussions of BB, the brits live his and will have to live with the bad press they get after and other repercussions so are more reserved.

Also when did we as a society and BB viewership decide we wanted constant bitching and arguments, sorry I meant "drama", as entertainment over tasks that are funny to watch and seeing people actually having fun?

I believe this is the point . One maybe two is ok and can be enjoyable but to stack the house this year with 7 was overwhelming and too many .

I see no one commented on our European neighbours who I believe have more in common with us .

Trouble is we don't get to see what the others are really like, the producers and it would seem the voters just want loud, obnoxious people to hog the cameras. And the more times they can use the eff word in a sentence the better.

It is just as well their was as Many Americans imo as the Brits were mostly boring and were in the house for easy Money. If you did not have Farrah, Austin (Who I not like) and Jenna it would have been a Borefest imo. Take Natash she has been a total bore her only storyline was Farrah.

this was my point, had the yanks not been there arguing we would have seen more of them they may well have been more entertaining as it wasn't just another row over **** all
