An idea of a permanent format change I have would go like this.

- A head of household is crowned in a task - they are safe for the week but must nominate 1 person who automatically faces the public vote (face to face).

- Then the house nominates as usual (in the diary room)

- Then somebody wins a 'power of veto' in a task. This person can save a nominee. If they do then the Head of Household must name a replacement nominee (face to face). The nominations are then final, the lines open.

- The public votes to save, on eviction night the two housemates with the least votes are announced as being 'at risk'.

- Before the eviction the housemates (excluding the two 'at risk' and the Head of Household) go to the diary room to evict one of the two housemates who are at risk, If the vote is a tie then the Head of Household must decide who is evicted.

Rules
- You cannot win Head of Household twice in a row
- Nomination talk is still banned, though you are allowed to discuss your vote to evict on eviction night.

I really think a big shake up like this is needed.

It would be an interesting change for a series, as a trial perhaps.
I'm not sure many others on this forum would agree. Enthusiasm for BB:US was never too great here.

Agreed that a shake up is desperately needed, but unfortunately shake ups like Friday's eviction whatever that was are more likely than a revamp.

bb usa is based on big brother's common american meaning of "replacement dad" and it is a wet lettuce of a show.
bb-uk and most of the rest of the world is based on totalitarian state subversive control and surveillance.. and it is crispy sharp & great

Every season, I am so excited for Big Brother USA to begin, yet many seasons I lose interest in the show after only a few evictions have happened. There is something about what they do that just seems so very scripted as to the outcome and who makes it farthest into the game.

I will say, that except for this season, I've always enjoyed the UK version of Big Brother much, much better than the USA version.

I don't think the format would work here, though I'd have liked it to.

The company running BBUK is more interested in money than anything else. The reason BBUS is like it is, is because of Julie Chen is married to the head of the network, so they don't have to rely on making money from phone-ins all the time.

I would like to see more tasks in BBUK. Sadly as the seasons have gone on, there seems to be less and less tasks and more relying on social experiments. Now its getting abit worn and dated, and really become an obsticle to the actual experience. I don't think we needed an 'official' USA vs UK theme this season. I think something would have naturally happened. But we'd have had the added benefit of maybe something else happening too if there wasn't that theme in effect.

It would be good to have set rules too. So that people knew what was happening. So a good game player could actually avoid dangers and especially avoid being put up. I think this was the original idea when BBUK started (I remember Nick passing the paper around with names on). These days people can be nominated with very few votes.

Also this manipulation of keep changing 'to evict' or 'to save' is becoming annoying. If BB want to save an unpopular person, then they use 'to save' and that gives a chance for that persons fans to defend the housemate. Otherwise if they want to get rid of an unpopular housemate then they choose 'vote to evict'. A perfect example of this was the secret room that Farrah and Jenna got voted in to. It was text book manipulation.

I wish Big Brother wouldnt be so hands-on. It's ruining the show.

I don't know how many remember Teen Big Brother, but the teenagers in the house decided who left and who won.
