I think the Grandfather point is the issue here. I think that James is projecting his feelings for his grandfather onto Janice, perhaps that is blinding him a bit to her faults at times.
I don't think he's blind to her faults at all.

I think James just doesn't approve of the way Austin goes about challenging Janice, shouting, swearing, chucking stuff etc.

Isn't it obvious BB are trying to get Austin evicted before the final with showing all this negative stuff and everyone is falling for it. Janice is not a nice sweet old lady, she is an expert on reality tv and what works and she is deliberately winding Austin up, so don't feel sorry for her.
Bet Janice "the reality pro" was shocked she was not in the top 4...maybe in her contract she is in the final....hence the edited hatchet on Austin and the "poor old lady" being bullied storyline is being shown.....Janice Dickinson is a pro at what she does she is not being bullied at all. she takes no prisoners..

James obviously has a lot of respect for his elders. You can tell that by the way he talks about his grandfather and Janice. He also looks up to Bobby a lot as well.

I don't think she's some poor old lady being bullied.

She's winding Austin up. Jenna adds fuel to the fire, then drags in James to trash too, and off he goes.

He's biting far too hard and it's making him look like a nasty brat having a tantrum and it's not on for a grown man to do that.

He's got to wise up and rein it in, and stop taking it out on James too.

Yet Janice was aggressive over the letter yesterday. As we see on the highlights tonight she threw the letter at his feet (She could have just put his letter straight in the pool without poking him) but James doesn't comment on this. I understand James giving Janice a bit of support but he does sometimes seem to forget that sometimes his friend does need support and not just negative comments.

I don't think he's a fan of irrational ott confrontation full stop, but you are right, ithink he sees shouting and railing and chucking as MORE inappropriate when the object is older.

Perhaps we will see more of what happened.

And ultimately it doesn't matter. Janice is an old WUM, Austin's got to control himself.

I also think James is still sore about the roasting he got from Jenna and Austin about Janice yesterday. James is tired and irritated and annoyed by it all.

Chill out, there's a week to go, nothing is going to change what happened, control yourself Austin etc.

And didn't James say that he TOTALLY UNDERSTOOD Austin's frustrations?

What does Austin want him to do - go and attack Janice in the SAME WAY he does? That's not going to happen.

Very well said. I can understand him getting very upset about his letter, but as much as I really like him, he just needs to calm down a bit. I feel like Big Brother need to provide a sensory corner with some play dough and colouring!

I couldn't imagine being in that house and being so anxious, so a lot of me does feel sorry for him. You can't get away from everyone really and just go chill, especially in the middle of a task. He needs to try and do that though. James is sometimes quite good at getting him out of that mind frame, by literally stopping the conversation and distracting him with a mantub or something, but sometimes I think James piles on the pressure even more by making it seem like he won't be his friend any more, even though he doesn't mean to and is only trying to help.

Jenna is doing exactly what I'd knew she'd do; she's trying to divide and conquer them. Having little chats with James and little chats with Austin, always about the other one.

I wouldn't say attack Janice but I think Austin wishes that James was more honest with Janice at times. Hence the following quote from tonights show.

and this is what I don’t understand about you James is because every time I am wrong you pull me up on it. Every time Janice is wrong you come to me and say ‘Oh Austin I understand your frustrations’

As I've said, James HAS told Janice to her face that she behaves very badly at times. And James told Austin that he did, Austin just ignores all that because he's having a paddy.

And what is he supposed to say to Austin? 'Well done my lad, you showed her?'

That would just be a lie, it made Austin look awful and was unpleasant to watch, it didn't do him any favours.

To bully Janice? Poor Austin is being supported and assisted by lovely Jenna.

I was JUST about to add this to my post. If Austin needs that sort of support, the lovely Jenna is only too gleefully happy to give it.

He is giving him emotional support.

I think he should just have a race with him round the garden, hit a few balls at each other and wrestle for a bit. Austin is pent up.

But James isn't his therapist.

I don't think she's being bullied for a moment. She's baiting and Austin is biting, silly, silly boy.

Now now, James doesn't set himself up as some Scoopish type, and didn't offer direct support to Chlovie or Janice.

He just doesn't like that Austin goes too far, is too agressive and confrontational.

He's right.

I remember the days when Janice did aggression and confrontation on RT. She's learned a much better trick now, like you said wind them up and let them dig their own grave. My only calming thought from all this is at least she won't win

I'm going to wait to see the highlights first because they could be holding something back of course. But from the spoilers i've read Austin doesn't sound too bad in the garden disgreement with Janice and Bobby. Just pointing out the obvious that their behaviour has/could cost an innocent member of the group their letter. So I was a bit confused why James seems to be talking about Austin's bad behaviour in the garden when it seems to be Austin's tamest disagreement to date lol.

Yeah, agreed. No one has even come close to bullying in there. I hate it when the B word is just waved around. They can all be idiotic, messed up people but that doesn't make them bullies.

Sorry, that made me laugh out loud!

Seems you don't think Jenna is giving poor Austin "emotional support."

Yeah, I agree, it's sometimes better to wait for the highlights to see and hear everything in context. Sometimes the spoilers have made something sound really bad, but once its shown it turned out to be a fuss over nothing.
