I'm sure Ronnie actually still owns it but it hasn't been seen or even mentioned in months. I do think DTC needs to give Ronnie a new type of role on the square which sees her interact with more characters, she is one of the few that is really isolated from everyone else, it seems all her scenes are with Roxy, Charlie, Phil and Vincent and one of them is soon leaving. Perhaps she could start running the car lot once Charlie goes with Fatboy as her assistant or something, Ronnie badly needs something fresh and new and it may bring out more of her fun and feisty side, even someone like Phil seems to have more of a sense of humor these days than Ronnie. Either that or give her more interaction with the Mitchells, Jay especially, I think these two could work well together and I'd like to see more scenes between them.

Ronnie brought it, we saw Roxy in the office a few times, a scene with Stacey, and a scene with Dean stealing a phone (or something) and nothing since.

Ronnie spoke about putting it on sale. It vanished as randomly as it appeared.

It's a wasted space, no gym in EE is rather odd.

The boxing place was quite a prominent set during Newman's reign. I can see why DTC hasn't used it because it's a set that is limited. Only certain characters and the owners will ever been seen there. Plus it is hard to base storyline or general drama around it. I assume Ronnie still owns it but some continuity would be nice. But it's not the only set that is MIA. R&R hasn't been seen for ages and The Bookies hasn't been seen since Carol and Glenda ran it together.

Didn't Kirkwood invent the boxing gym? It's always been a completely useless set. It's only intention seemed to be to give the Eddie Moon lot their own set. I couldn't care less if I never saw it again.

Another set that's barely featured these days is The Laundrette. Surprising given how iconic it is, and the only interior set i can think of that hasn't changed at all from the very first episode. |

Can't remember the last time i saw the club. I guess The Albert has filled it's place now. Would've been nice if Sharon ran it renamed it Angie's Den again.

It was seen the other week when Dot returned but that was the first time in ages. I like the fact that DTC has given more focus to the market with a number of characters now working out there, Kirkwood, Newman and Santer virtually ignored it during their stints and for me the market is one of the show's core points that shouldn't ever be ignored.

Phil owns it outright, he brought Janine out and Sharon signed her shares over to him when they brought The Albert together.

The dagmar was where the albert is now isn't it?
I think the R&R is missed, It's weird how they just got rid of that. |

Ronnie is at her best when shes controlling a business whether its R&R or the gym. She needs that control to be in charge. She just floats around at the moment watching Bargain Hunt!!
I really wish they would have her managing the R&R again. Its named after her and Roxy after all!! |

I wish it had just been a regular gym. I never liked the vibe of it, it seemed out of place and a throwback.

I think the gym worked with Michael and Jack running it as it was the setting of a lot of stuff happening.
I agree about the pharmacy - I'm not sure why they didn't make Shabnam get the job there. |

And people could always be dropping into the pharmacy for something.

I don't miss it. I personally would like to see the pharmacy being used more and Shabbers needs to be employed there. Imagine Shabbers face when Mo comes in for her piles cream or Phil comes in for his Viagra
![]() Yeah I think it was, it's been a lot of different things over the years including a Nail bar ![]() The pharmacy should be used. People could go there almost as much as the Minute Mart. Most people in real life go to places likes Boots regularly for all sorts of things ie shampoo and there would realistically be scenes with people chatting in the Albert Square chemist. Maybe EE bosses want to keep everything working class and the pharmacy doesn't fit in with that idea? Pharmacists are definitely university educated and well paid. I think it was silly that Shabnam stayed working in the Minute Mart on minimum wage when she could have had a position as a pharmacist. I know she wanted to help Denise but really, would anyone turn down a brilliant job in a chemist to work in a "corner shop" on much less money?

I mean all they needed to do is get a white van and they could have a character who is a plumber or an electrician. Someone who could easily be about Walford with all the businesses. Then there is the community centre, I think that could be utilised more with a a manager. Rather than having Sonia suddenly starting fat friends on a whim they could bring in a character who teaches fitness classes. I always thought an Estate Agents or letting agency would be a good place for Max to work. I hate the car lot, supposedly there is a big space at the back which contains all the cars but we've never seen it and it wasn't there when they moved the Portakabin, turn it back into a taxi rank. |
