I am looking to buy a iphone 6 as a upgrade from my current Iphone 4. I`m interested in this phone because of a number of reasons e.g connectivity, browsing, apps, music and battery. However, I know how much phone shops like to con you, so I`m being careful about what I select.

My specifications are it has to be a pay as you go deal, no contracts, able to call, text etc, wifi, no windows.

Now, I am basically looking for the best PAYG deal out their, the best one I have found so far is from Three. I would buy it now, but I want to make sure the £32 a month is not a contract or anything http://www.three.co.uk/iPhone/iPhone...our=Space_Grey. I think it`s set to contract at the moment?

So overall, I am looking for a PAYG phone, which I pay off monthly, no contracts. Upfront cost is not a problem, Neither is the monthly amount of pay. Just want to make sure I don`t buy the wrong contract.

If upfront cost is not a problem, why don't you buy an iPhone 6 and get a PAYG SIM?

Just brought a PAYG sim, didn`t know they existed. Reason why Is because I don`t have £500 in my bank, £99 I can do for sure. So if I buy this phone, I pay £32 monthly for it until I pay it all off?

No, it's a contract, it's £99 for the handset and £32 a month for 24 months.

If it has a fixed monthly price for a set time, it's a contract.

Why not get an interest free credit card. Buy the IPhone 6 from someone like giffgaff and pay off the balance monthly.

You can even buy the phone from Giffgaff with a loan from them.

You may not have £500 in the bank, but you will pay a lot more than that over the course of the contract. Basically, it's interest charges. This is how the phone companies make their money.

An iPhone 6 will be about £400 by the time the first wave of 6S arrive. And don't forget your iPhone 4 is worth something.

That's a really good point. As the iPhone is £450 now on there so take off what is the rough Apple price cut of £60 and I suspect it will be selling at £399 next week.

Is GiffGaff reliable? I saw a article while I was browsing about not using them because they scam you.

The cheapest iPhone 4 on Amazon is £95. Unless it is in terrible state you might be surprised.

Well they are owned by o2 so they arnt some backstreet article.

I suspect that was someone writing who wasn't happy about something. I would describe them as cheap and cheerful. They do the job, but don't expect bells and whistles.

They are part of o2, and you don't have to actually be a Giffgaff customer to buy a phone from them, the handsets are actually o2 inventory, but supplied unlocked.

If you buy a phone from giffgaff on finance you're just talking a personal loan through another company called ratesetter.

There are lots of giffgaff horror stories when things go wrong with handsets. I know Apple provide a warranty but if you have an early life issue I wouldn't want to be stuck with a "remanufcatured" warranty unit because giffgaff won't provide a brand new replacement. There's no customer service to call so you can't speak to anyone. it's really upto you if you're happy to take your chance. Perhaps have a look at review sites like Trustpilot.

Personally I'd buy from a more reputable source that I know will offer good real time customer service. Apple direct also offer a pay monthly finance option and their early life after sales support is great. The direct from phone from Apple will work with any UK PAYG or contact sim.

OP - if you can't afford it then you shouldn't get it. And what's wrong with saving up for something? It sounds like you have a £100 saved up now so just save up the £300 needed to buy the phone. In a couple of months the price of a refurb iP6 will be even lower. A grade A on Smartfonestore is £360 (network locked) and a tenner more unlocked.
