Watching the friendship blossom between James and Austin has been so endearing 'for me' to watch.

Now the end is near it just seems that James is more than willing to throw Austin under the bus in the hope of being a winner.

I know you don't go into the Big Brothers house to gain friends, this is after all a game, but their friendship 'to me' really did seem genuine and seeing James now willing to sacrifice his integrity to try and win a TV show just seems such a shame.

When you feel you've gained a 'genuine' friendship you do expect that person to have your back and if they don't agree with you, take it to a place of privacy to discuss it, not allow Janice to blatantly walk in and sit by James to continue the conversation. At that moment I would have thought James would have asked Janice if she wouldn't mind giving them some privacy given as she could see they were having a chat, or stopped the conversation and told Austin they'd continue later in private.

To switch allegences so late in the game really 'for me' is coming off as being pretty poor and to 'pretend' there's still a genuine friendship there by remaining in the same bed as Austin (to quote James "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer") is just horrible.

But then it seems apparant to me now that James never did have and genuine feelings of friendship toward Austin. He had a place on the UK team and also one on the U.S. team, now he no longer needs that, he can show himself for he really is and tread on anyone by whatever means to do what it takes to get to the top.

I've been a James fan from day one....sadly not any more.

Has he done it to be a winner though? I think he did it because austin has been a monumental pain in the arse these last 3 or 4 days.

You've been reading my mind Tasmanian Devil. I've said more or less the same thing in the thread "James just won the show".

I even said the same thing about James throwing Austin under the bus!

Austin should place higher than James because he says how he feels and doesn't edit himself as James has been doing. So I prefer Austin warts and all over James any day!

I've watched Janice be a right royal pain in the derrière and I'd personally put a friendship over her self centeredness any day.

Janice' comments about Austin needing to respect his elder really got my goat because going into that house they're ALL on the same playing field. If they can't do that then maybe they shouldn't be in there in my humble opinion. Janice does not hold the upper hand because her age aces Austins and having seen how Janice has played this game I'd personally choose what I felt was a genuine friendship of her every time....but then...maybe it was never a genuine friendship after all.

Yes TD it's true about Janice she says she wants respect but then acts like someone's great Aunt with not many marbles left. But this is part of her schtick though and it's working because she is still there.

IMO Austin was right on the money when he said that she was a master manipulator.

But there's still no need for Austin to be downright rude to her, and call her all sorts of names.

I think he meant Jenna was one of those.

I think it's Austin aided by Jenna who is throwing James under the bus, calling him a gameplayer etc.

They know he is popular and in their desperation to win are besmirching his good name to further their own chances.

Ultra competitive alliance from the U.S. housemates. However, lone wolf Janice is determined to throw a spanner in their game to further her own chances.

Love it!

James is a mug if he's fallen for Chloe's poor me act and started treating Janice like the queen.

The writing was on the wall when James callously failed to reciprocate Austins heartfelt declaration of friendship the other day.

he’s picking up stray votes for when they leave the house and he’s in the final two...two birds with one stone

It was a bit out the blue...the start of James’ ramping it up for the final

OK - so it's perfectly acceptable for Austin to spit out venom at just about everyone because he's just being honest - when James is honest he's being callous.

I think he made an awful lot of sense when he said you don't really know anyone after three weeks - I think that's more than abundantly clear now - Austin is really showing himself to be someone very different to the character he portrayed when he first befriended James.

Austin is only a friend to those who do what he says - he's been like that from the beginning. James is just cleverer tan he is. Good on him.

That's what happens when you get sucked in by a couple of phony people, and manipulative editing.

Why are people so quick to denounce Austin for using exactly the same language towards Janice as she has previously used towards him?

She set the precedent on that particular front and yet she gets a free pass?

Austin has always been aggressive and nasty. JAustin's fans just didn't want to see it.

And ditto James, who has always been an insipid little weasel.

I don't feel let down if anything I'm glad James said he what he did because Austin has been the most loyal friend to him quite a couple of times he has talked about him behind his back with Jenaa and Faraah.

I really liked Austin but now I really hope he goes tomorrow

Another skewed post in terms of the reality of what's going on. Again it's very hard to give an accurate assessment with all the edits as we don't see the true picture but I think James is getting rather tired of Austin's behaviour. Which is why he's being less tolerant and more "snippy".

I think he could handle it at first but I think he's just getting fed up of all the innuendo and physical attention and inappropriate behaviour. As well he should. Lines have been crossed.

As for desiring a showmance with Farah, that's just ludicrous! He clearly found her utterly intolerable.

Austin's behavior has been the same since Day One. The reason James is turning on him is because Austin had the temerity to call him out on his BS re selecting Janice; the 'someone called my grandfather' and 'fragile young girl' nonsense he spouted in his defense.
