The Nolan interview was pre-recorded, and there's a couple of times you can hear edit points. Steven and Chris are friends, I suspect there's every chance any awkward Dave chat was either removed, or simply not mentioned.

It might simply be that Dave genuinely is happy with the next chapter of his career, doesn't want the early starts etc.

Although a throwaway good luck tweet would have gone a long way to preventing speculation.

I thought today's show was quite weak. We know Chris can go big on charity campaigns but he was not given enough resources for his show today. I think this is a problem with Global as although they have said they are joining up the stations, it is only via the charity and noticable on air with shared bulletins. However, if you are listening to one station then you would not realise the other stations are doing it. I think Chris should have had more case studies to work with and I know about time constraints but have visited the charities to talk about it with a personal point of view as the BBC do with Comic Relief when they went to Uganda and saw how the projects work. It would not have been hard to have him do an interview at a London charity. Global have raised a lot of money but mostly it is through their auctions rather then so much cross branding. I thought today would have been perfect for Chris to gatecrash the studios. Also this week's wheel of chance their big feature has barley been featured other then talking about it on Monday which was fun and exciting as it was Anti-Radio X playlist. The other problem is these novely old guitar rock songs are now on a D rotation and listening to Moyles everydya they are starting to become recognisable such as Feeder and Pulp. This then leads to the problem of the Platinum Hour as we have already had those songs through the week at around 6:55am which I know could be when audiences are not listening. However, the Golden Hour was all about songs you never hear and there is a novelty.

Couldn't agree more on the Platinum hour, the feature works because it is an hour of old tunes you never hear on the station. They need to play songs that are unlikely to get played at other times on Radio X. I'm sure all the tunes featured so far have been played a number of times on the station in other slots possibly even on Chris' show. This is one area Chris needs to push back on its a slot where Radio X could expand its remit a bit and play some artists they wouldn't normally; Beatles, U2 (Dom would love it), Pink Floyd, some 90s dance, Coldpaly, Keane, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Pink, Jay-Z, Beyonce.

And some Queen, T-Rex, Simon and Garfunkel, Kate Bush, I'm sure these artists wouldn't completely alienate the Radio X audience for 1 hour per week.

There is a whole world of rock, alt-rock and alt-dance that they don't venture into normally. I'd hope they'd explore those avenues before hitting any at the end of your list.

Remember its mostly a new rock music station with the odd familiar recurrent thrown in. When Coldplay and Snow Patrol have new albums out I'd be surprised if they weren't playlisted. They've done so in the past.

Sure throw in your alt stuff on an evening show, but the Platinum hour (1hour a week only) should be about classics but stuff not normally played, here's my suggestion;

Doesn't really fit with the music played on Radio X so hopefully not. It would make a refreshing change to have at least one music station that doesn't.
