It appears that way, no sign of them on the playlist, I guess they are deemed too mainstream. U2 appear to be in the same category.

Yes can't understand the lack of coldplay or Keane at least they could play the lesser well known/played tracks ? Two of the biggest bands of the 00s

I don't understand why there is no Coldplay.

I suspect an XFM era/music snobbery is still going on.

Same staff as XFM isn't it just a few big name DJs bought in, wonder what the cool XFM staff make of Moyles and his Phil Collins?

Chris' last show before Xmas is 23rd Dec, as he usually takes two weeks I'm guessing he'll also be off the first week of January, I wonder who'll cover that week?

He is also in negotiations with management about a pre recorded Xmas day show, but is asking for a day in lieu (Monday or Friday) if he agrees to do that.

XFM appeared to be snubbing U2 for the last year or two of the station's existence. To be honest I can't recall hearing much Coldplay or even Keane that another poster has mentioned in the last year or so either.

You can't even listen to the Chris Moyles show now on the website, Useless.

XFM played Coldplay and Keane all the time! Coldplay probably more than Keane but they did play them.

It shows how much notice I was taking at the time! I always had XFM on in the background during the day and can't remember hearing either for quite some time.

There was a 'text-off' between Coldplay's Yellow and a Muse track during Vernon's show today. They claimed that Muse won the contest with about 80% of the votes, so Coldplay wasn't played.

Always remember just because you don't hear a particular artist or group it doesn't necessarily mean they are "banned". To ban anything you have to publicly come out and explain why it's banned.

Coldplay will probably get played once they release new material.

Well it does seem to be taking quite a while for wooden Dave to settle into the team. I bet he's a right bore to go out with, I feel a bit sorry for Dom he's extremely gifted, great personality and great at what he does. Sorry to say it seems Chris & Dom are completely running the show with a 5% input from the other two.

I don't actually think Dave is needed & hope in 3 months he's gone. He drains the others of any excitement & personality, far 2 set in his ways , 0% personality and moulded by Global.

Get ready to go Dave... Tin pot FM is waiting for you

They need some Coldplay on there so Chris doesn't joke about how much Florence and the machine is played.

I wonder why there not played now.

I would of thought with the relaunch global would of wanted a station with as much appeal as possible with still a distinctive sound.

There still very different to Absolute there nearest sounding equavalent.

Harsh, I bet hes a nice bloke and has potential or Chris wouldn't give him the on-air role, just probably not used to this kind of radio. Didn't listen to XFM London but is was alternative and he would have less on air time and his air time would be music focused.

I think Chris is using the first 3 months up until January as an on-air trail. The show will take its shape with features in the New Year. The roadtrip takes up a lot of time, competitions etc.

The ads seem to be getting more frequent, if not longer in duration. I guess they are selling more I hope they don't increase any more.

Pippa is decent on air, she has a certain charm and you can tell she is on chris/dom's wavelength.

If Dave isn't kept on the CMS, I would leave it as Chris and Dom unless they can add a strong person. Dave can easily be moved to another X show, Jon Holmes or a weekend show.

Looking forward to see how the show develops. At the moment the show is a solid 8 out of 10 but with time can see this rising.

Chris hasn't lost his magic - just need music Mike to increase the genres into indie electronic or a bit of light indie pop, give Chris a couple of free choices per show and definitely make the Platinum hour playlist free (within reason, no B*Witched or cheesy pop)

I must be the only person who doesn't mind new Dave. He's quieter, and I do get that you lot think he's a bit too 'global' - but he doesn't offend and has come out with a few lol moments already.

Not banned maybe but too mainstream to be a core Radio X artist like Keane and U2.

When will Radio X realise to gain more listeners it needs to play some extra artists, no need to stop anything they currently play just add some Coldplay, Keane and U2 to increase variety.

Same with the Beatles I've only heard them once on Radio X yet Stones always being played, again due to Beatles being too mainstream.

Dave will settle in, he's an 'outsider' basically so it will take a while

Pippa was on the R1 show, not sure what role, she wasn't on air much and only the last few months, Chris must have kept in touch a bit!

I'd say this week's shows are the best yet

Pippa was Greg James' producer at Radio 1. She had worked on the Moyles show but was largely in an off air role.

Nice dig about Florence funding her gig solely on the royalties from Radio X playing her song.

Platinum hour starting with a track they don't usually play which is good, lets hope for a few more tracks in the hour which aren't usually played on the station.

Same with track 2, maybe a change of strategy for the hour, play a core XFM artist but a track not currently on rotation so at least you get an hour of different songs. Lets see if this continues...

Spoke too soon, track 3 gets played all the time on the station.
