I'm also pretty sure Waitrose has a much wider range of products than Aldi/Lidl, in the same way Radio X (like all Global stations) is successful on pushing the same songs over and over again. Absolute Radio is Morrisions, nice wide product range, the customers who go there are satisfied but it doesn't have nearly enough customers and is struggling financially. |

Moyles is not going to be happy unless a) he is the most listened to commercial station in both the Manchester and London region and b) his listener figures go into the millions rather than thousands

I do find it shocking that Heart has more variety of songs than Radio X (according to compare my radio). Don't rock guitar fans prefer a wider selection of songs than the casual Heart listeners. Why do global think the high rotation they apply to Heart/Capital will apply to Radio X, isn't this lazy music scheduling? |

The first 30 mins of today's show was superb and a utter piss take towards senior management. It's the bit about all Global staff been forced to attend today's RAJAR while chomping a banana.

Moyles does repeat links yes. Usually what is said in the first 40 minutes will be repeated around the 9am mark, however, this depends on a few things;
Listener engagement via social media, if they receive lots of general interest or positive social media feedback they will repeat the link. During the show dull Dave and Pipper are continuously monitoring listener interaction to the show. Some will disagree with me here but I am aware from a reliable source Moyles continuously watches this forum (probably due to his radio anorak side) but more importantly he does act on feedback positively. One example was the negative feedback from the TELL DOM to do things after the news which has now been dropped. Once Moyles proves himself in the next round of RAJAR figures in Feb and the DAB ones in May, we'll be hearing a few changes with Global and Moyles. Chris becomes bored with things very easily I guess it's his creative side coming out. I also have a sneaky feeling that we might be hearing Moyles & Dom on LBC very soon and trying out some stand-in shows. |

Why are the DAB results not due until May, I thought Q4 results both Analogue and Digital were each quarter, Feb results won't give us the full picture if we only get his London and Manchester figures.
RAJAR is a pretty robust service (it surveys 25,000 people a quarter) which is brilliant for national stations like Radio 4, if you're in a small TSA there's fewer diary holders in your specific area and it can fluctuate a little quarter to quarter. Therefore if you're in a smaller TSA your figures are more consistent if you roll the data over a 6month or a 12 month. On RAJAR's website you can see who does which by seeing Q, H or Y. Most reasonable sized local stations go for 6 months. Small ones for a year. XFM UK is made up of London (q), Manchester (h) and Out of Analogue Area (h). When combining them, Global choose to report the network as a (h) - ie 6 months. Therefore the February data for the national Radio X will include Q3 (not Moyles) and Q4 (Moyles). It will be a good indication as it'll be averaging the probably lower Q3 period and the presumably higher Q4 period - giving a sort of half way house result. The one too look for, in Feb, is Radio X London as that's a (q) and will therefore just be the Q4 data. |

I can imagine a scenario where the ratings for Moyles show vs the rest of the station could be the biggest difference to any station ever.
I have not listened to any other show on radio X yet. Tune in to Moyles on the app in the morning and then back to five live for the drive home. I still don't understand the limited playlist and why Coldplay has not featured at all. Plus the list of inappropriate tracks does not have so many that are inappropriate. The music policy overall for the breakfast show (station) seems random. Groove Armada being innappropriate and the Prodigy part of the main list of tunes. Love Moyles but there certainly seems to be far more adverts creeping in to the show. |

Platinum hour adding some variety after just rotating the normal Radio X playlist in the first few weeks, 1st two tracks today Bruce Springsteen and Ben Folds Five, have either of these ever been played on Radio X?
I'm starting to think Chris would make the station far more interesting if he was also given the head of music role. |

Wow, Fleetwood Mac! Great song and sounds good. If they don't look out the may start stealing listeners from Absolute.
Wouldn't attracting listeners from Absolute make huge financial sense for Global? |

I'm starting to think Chris would make the station far more interesting if he was also given the head of music role. Chris can do indie music, radio 1 played quite a bit of it The Thrills and Snow Patrol good tracks to get the occasional outing. Chris would have been suited to Absolute going by his choices, should let him and Dave Masterman/Mike the Head of music and Chris joint program the music for his show. Be a good mix of current playlist and other stuff not being played. |

Adding U2, Prince, Stevie Wonder and ZZ Top in the 2nd half hour, Radio X reaching out beyond its core indie artists and sounding much better for it.
I can hardly see the playing of those artists are going to make their indie audience run away screaming yet it will broaden their appeal and attract new listeners. Unfortunately doing this for 1 hour a week won't make much difference they need to drop these type of artists in occasionally during all the other shows. |

Sorry to say that Chris Moyes is getting on my nerves already though I accept that he has livened up the place. I really think he one of those 'marmite' radio presenter.
