Different stations get figures based on either the last 3 months, 6 months or a year. For 6 months it combines two quarters and for a year it combines four.
RAJAR is a pretty robust service (it surveys 25,000 people a quarter) which is brilliant for national stations like Radio 4, if you're in a small TSA there's fewer diary holders in your specific area and it can fluctuate a little quarter to quarter. Therefore if you're in a smaller TSA your figures are more consistent if you roll the data over a 6month or a 12 month. On RAJAR's website you can see who does which by seeing Q, H or Y.
Most reasonable sized local stations go for 6 months. Small ones for a year.
XFM UK is made up of London (q), Manchester (h) and Out of Analogue Area (h). When combining them, Global choose to report the network as a (h) - ie 6 months. Therefore the February data for the national Radio X will include Q3 (not Moyles) and Q4 (Moyles).
It will be a good indication as it'll be averaging the probably lower Q3 period and the presumably higher Q4 period - giving a sort of half way house result.
The one too look for, in Feb, is Radio X London as that's a (q) and will therefore just be the Q4 data.
