I disagree with the comment about Moyles. I don't think he is Marmite. I don't think his show would have got the ratings it did on Radio 1 if he was.

The music on Radio X is awful though, its very safe but somehow at the same time also too niche. As soon as Moyles plays a song I turn over and come back after a few minutes (I did initially give the music a chance).

Whoever said Radio 1 is cool and Radio X/XFM isn't got it spot on. Radio 1 IS cool, they take risks breaking new stuff. You could describe Radio 1 as the BBC's new music station and that's exactly what I want. Multi-genre too.

Chris is going to destroy Key103 and 6Music, his words on today's show. He is more focused on winning in London and Manchester as it's a level playing field on FM and in stereo unlike the rest of the country which is mono DAB only.

Very interesting to hear him discussing strategy and competitors live on air.

You do know it's all an act for the radio, right?

Today's inappropriate track; Caroline by Status Quo, selected by Vernon Kay's dad.

6Music's very own Guy Garvey is Chris' guest on tomorrow's show, obviously to help attract the 6Music and Manchester audience Chris is focused on.

Are you are real person, of some sort of automated bot sitting in the bowels of Leicester Square?

No regular 6M listener would go near X - they'd die of repetitive strain injury in the first day. You are suffering delusions on a grand scale.

How are the Quo inappropriate for a station playing rock and guitar based music? They put the Stones on the playlist so it can't be that they're not "fresh"

6Music is a stepping stone from Radio 1 to Radio X, some Radio X presenters even worked on 6Music before hitting the big time with Radio X (Jon Holmes), I'm sure Jon bought plenty of his 6Music fans with him.

Radio X just brings in the best names in radio from the other big stations; Radio 1 (Moyles//Kay), Capital/Talksport (Vaughn), Radio 4, 2, 6Music (Holmes).

Worth pointing out that the B*Witched track had a rock remix to make it more Radio X

Great interview with 6Music's Guy Garvey on today's show, Chris and Guy obviously get on well and Chris activly tryiong to recruit Guy to Radio X explaining that they pay better than the BBC so Chris must be doing well as he was well paid at the BBC too. I think Chris sees a clear opportunity to increase his audience by attracting 6 MUsic listeners.
