Right, this is the big I don't get. You've got a marmite breakfast show presenter, who some people passionately like and is a turn-off for others, and a music policy that's very narrow. Seems like they cross section between Moyles fans and Radio X music fans won't be huge. It definitely doesn't reach Moyles' potential.
Why aren't they doing a Virgin style indie, credible pop and occasional throwback to appeal to people in their late 20s upwards? Seems like a much more mainstream format, and I imagine the license would let them get away with much of it. It'd appeal to those who grew up with Moyles on R1 much more than what they're doing at the moment.
