I take it by max you meant maximum and not that you view Max as a Queen

Your welcome

I'm not sure that's so. When the show started we had Pauline, Angie, Michelle, Kathy, Lou and Sue. Considering that the cast was half the size that's quite a few. Personally I prefer the show when all, barring a few backround characters, get their turn a top billing. I don't think I'd watch the show if there were only 2 or top dogs (bitches )

Let's be honest, everyone knew where this poll would go. I'm just glad that DS doesn't represent the majority of viewers.

I'd definitely keep Shirley, Kathy and Ronnie.

I'd lose Sharon and Stacey.

Though everyone likes different characters so really I don't see why there can't be a place for all of them.

Sharon and Kathy are original characters and they're original queens. Shirley and Ronnie are vile characters. Linda and Stacey are modern icons

EDIT: I wouldn't lose Shirley actually because Linda Henry definitely doesn't deserve to lose her job. Shirley fans don't need to worry because she won't ever get axed.

I think Linda Henry is too good to lose. She is one of the best actresses they have.

I know I'm quite vocal about Shirley but she definitely deserves a place on the show. She's been there for 9 years and could have done other roles but the actress is obviously very loyal to EastEnders and it's where she belongs. She may annoy me but I would never want Linda Henry to lose her job because she's a good actress

I wouldn't worry about 19 people out of 6 + mil.

I never thought I'd say it, but right now I wouldn't miss Ronnie. Even when her life was a perpetual car wreck, even during the baby swap, I still rooted for her in a way. But I just don't care about her any more.

Of course not. I'm just pleased that DS doesn't represent the majority of viewers! I seem to go against the grain on most of my opinions on here!

Did they? It's actually Ronnie aka Samantha Womack toping the poll not Shirley.

I believe so. The results are usually quite predictable on here now that I've been on here long enough.

Irrelevant to me. some of my favourite and most memorable characters were only in the show a few years....Sue, Steve, Chrissie and Sean, to name a few. Longevity does not = quality.

Each to their own but they are the show's first characters and they are really important in terms of the show's history. They had memorable storylines especially in their heyday. I loved Sue Osman - her storyline was heartbreaking and well acted. Didn't watch it right from the beginning but I have seen her journey via DVDS online. There have been lots of memorable characters but I think we need iconic characters. Kathy, Sharon, Phil and Ian have been there for a long time and I don't think Dot will be there in a few years time. We have interesting new characters like the Carters. Just my opinion

I think EastEnders would definitely lose ratings if the likes of Phil and Ian leave the show.

Fair point. I guess then all their signature stories seemed to have a sense of flow about them. Now it feels like the 'queens' alternately fight for airtime or have their stories squeezed out til the pips squeak.

Some of the younger fans clearly don't care about the originals but they are very relevant IMO. I know some older fans don't care too but there are lots of older fans who do care. My friends and my parents care a lot about the iconic characters.

I think there was also much more of a community feel. There was the odd row, but generally the ladies got on and interacted. Now they all have to be at each other's throats or just ignore each other. Add in that they all have to fight for the attention of the same few sleazy males and we end up with these pathetic fan wars. You're right about the flow as well. I've been able to switch off for a couple of weeks because there's no one I want to watch ATM...surely that isn't healthy for the programme.

Are you claiming that YOUR the Queen Bee on here??!

Some may disagree some may think someone who's travelled across the vast solar system to post on here with star quality posts is much more suited to the title of Queen Bee!

In all seriousness I have not voted as I love them all and would keep them all. Thanks
