That's fine. No one's suggesting they shouldn't be in the show. But nor should we be wasting quality characters and actors.

BIB = Agreed. Especially the Shirley/Sharon fan wars which is getting tiresome. It has been like this for years now and it's never going to stop is it? You have Sharon fans attacking Shirley and Shirley fans attacking Sharon all the time. Thank god I love them both so I don't get involved

I would love for characters to acknowledge their similarities but it doesn't happen, presumably because it draws attention to the repetition of plots. I really wanted a conversation about their fathers, Mitchell history etc between Sharon and Ronnie, instead they sniped about boring old Jack. Similarly Kat and Shirley over their children and a multitude of others. But characters are boxed into their silos and just seem cold and self involved.

The fan wars seemed to be done with a sense of fun when I first arrived here but later turned into a war of attrition which is tedious. I don't think anyone from EE is going to read them, then decide to get rid based upon them.

And Sharon and Janine. It was a perfect opportunity with them working together, but no they either snapped at each other or weren't in the club at the same time. Then there is Jane and Denise. They haven't spoken for months and new viewers have no idea that she was in the house when Lucy was killed. Shirley and Carol didn't speak for years, and then we get that wonderful episode just before Carol leaves. It's so frustrating.
