It's like the show is forced to follow it's own tropes. Rick's plan coming unstuck. Glenn's near death survival by absurd means.
I laughed when Daryl used a rocket launcher to set fire to the lake of fuel. Yeah, won't have a better use for an RPG. Lighters and matches must be way rarer.”
When you think about it Jessie's little spoilt brat son Ron was completely right to pull the gun on Rick and try to kill him.
Rick had just wiped out his entire family. His father from the end of the previous series, his mum Jessie, and his little Brother Sam.
Rick promised them all that his meat suit plan would work.
Rick is like the angel of death himself. He's like a death magnet where if you get too close to him or follow his plans there's a good chance you'll end up dead somehow.
I know that I'm late to the party here in this thread, but I realise that I'm in a minority when I say that it was really saddening to see Jessie die. I thought she was being set up as a main character as she was stronger than all the other Alexandrians. It was heart wrenching for me to see the little boy die like that and Jessie simply not being able to help herself to not react to that. It would be so natural for a mother. Also that scene showed Andrew Lincoln knock it out of the park when he tried to restrain his emotion as he got little mini flashbacks of Jessie thinking of what could have been for him, then he has to chop her hand off to detach himself from her. Utterly tragic.
But great television.
Then when little shit Ron tried to quite rightly kill Rick Michonne skewers him with her sword, then when Carl turns around with his eye missing as Ron fires a shot off I might be the only person who thought this but I actually thought it was a little dream sequence that Rick was imagining and then it would all go back to normal.
It was that extreme I thought it was a dream sequence.
It was quite a stunning episode overall.
Again I apologise for posting about this episode so late on, but I had to give it a mention.
It certainly had an element of cheese to some of it. But that's not always a bad thing. It just depends on the episode and whether it is just after a dull spell or not.
This episode also appears to have been the start of Carol's change of character when she saw the Wolf guy save Denise's life as she shot him, and then possibly suddenly realised that Morgan's ideology that every and any life is precious might be correct after all.
