The hitchhiker? Rick's reasons for not letting him in was understandable, as was Carol's reasons for killing the sick in prison.
They kill when they find it right. A pragmatic view which I find perfectly fine. And that pragmatic view must also be used when deciding who they should keep.
On another note, I would like to know why Pete and his family hadn't been thrown out long time ago. If the abuse was so bad, then they must have seen it.
