Probably should have watched the previous finale before watching that as there were a couple of things I couldn't remember how they happened.

1. Why was Tara in the hospital?
2.Exactly how did the fight between Glen and the other guy finish up?

I was expecting Rick's plan to end with the Walkers being destroyed in some way rather than just leading the Herd 20 miles away as that still leaves the chance of something turning them around at some point.
I made sure I did over the weekend.

....I was a bit confused a first as I'd clearly forgotten how the last series ended and even who some of the people are. And the jumping backwards and forwards in time.
Who was Eugene boozing over in the body bag at the beginning ?
What happened between Glenn and the curly haired bloke ?........
Abraham over Pete the doctor (Jessie's husband, Ron's dad, Rick killed him)
Curly haired bloke tried to kill Glenn but couldn't, Glenn let him live.

I'll stick with it a little longer - I want to find out who is sounding that horn - but I really do think they've gone as far as they can with TWD now.
I was beginning to think that during the gap between series, particularly now we've got Z Nation which seems shiny and glittery in comparison to staid old TWD......

But this episode has got me right back into it.....

Nah that horn was Father Gabriel testing his improvised church bells.

I wouldn't have thought he'd have access. Knowing the lies he spouted, you'd think boss lady would have someone watching him, or at least have the alarm guarded.

Edit: that said, he is another candidate, though I thought he got past his deathwish.

They all start to look the same to me!

Mixed feelings about that episode from me.

I'm starting to really like Eugene and Abraham (I don't want Eugene to come to any harm EVER!) Where was Aaron?
I think I saw Aaron in the scene at Deanna's house where Rick was first talking about his plan to deal with the quarry zombies

Yeah he was there, but that was all I saw of him. He was shaping up to be quite a major character when we were first introduced to him, but since they got to Alexandria, he's almost disappeared.

That was a tongue in cheek remark,

Maybe he will appear more if Rick changes his mind about allowing scouting missions for other survivors.

Speaking of that it would seem from the first episode that this season might see the return of the Ricktatorship again

In Season 5 Morgan Jones camped on his way to Washington, D.C., one of the Wolves approached him, threatening to rob and kill him. When Morgan resisted, another Wolf attacked him from the woods. After winning the fight, Morgan locked them up inside the car he had been sleeping in and honked the horn to ensure the area was safe before he left - and to lure any nearby walkers to serve as distraction should the Wolves awake
So most likely was the wolves with the horn at the end of last nights episode.

I thought the opening episode was incredibly irritating.

Better luck next week.

actually it was Abraham boozing over the body not Eugene ........would either of them get drunk over Reg's body ?

They weren't big mates or anything.......I assumed it must be one of Rick's gang who was dead...........

And can anyone remember why Carol is playing the Stepford Wife ?.......it's a terrific turn of events but I can't remember what brought it on.......
She's in disguise as Little Miss Homemaker, hiding in plain sight

I was expecting more from this opening here, it wasn't bad by any means, but I was still expecting more - and I wasn't too keen on the black and white flashbacks. I think I get why they did that (to show the audience that it was flashbacks) but most people should have been able to work that out for themselves.

What got me though, was the stupidity. They had an army of zombies trapped, and it's their genius idea to let them out and then lead them out of the area rather than dealing with them.

Step #1: Reinforce the blockade.
Step #2: Build Bombs

Between the people of Alexandria, Daryl's crossbow and a various supplies, I find it hard to imagine that a few explosives couldn't have been created to deal with that army, heck, our survivors could have even dug some holes between the current blockage and Alexandria for the undead to fall into - then set them ablaze.

The whole concept of lets lead them all 20-30 miles out so that they're safe is madness. Especially when it wouldn't take too much noise to have them all turn around again.

And that alarm? My money's on the kid.
Well, as we had it pointed out once again tonight, big noises attract walkers, so nice, big, noisy bombs would hardly be the way to stop the flow of the never-ending stream of walkers that head towards the ravine on their way to Alexandria.

Didn't they explain, in this episode, their reasoning behind NOT reinforcing the blockade?

Of course it was Abraham - didn't spot that in the poster's post. I still think it was Reg though - the wedding ring and everything.

Carol - surely the best form of attack is surprise and as long as she still carries on as the Stepford Wife - the more of a surprise her turnaround will be. Morgan seems to have cottoned on to it though.

I think one of my main problems with this episode was there wasn't enough Carol.

I'll stick with it a little longer - I want to find out who is sounding that horn - but I really do think they've gone as far as they can with TWD now.
Wow, really? For me it gets better and better.

With Morgan as his conscience, to remind him of who he used to be. Perhaps it'll be a Ricktatorship with a little bit of heart too.

All leaders of groups seem to end up becoming tyrants or villains, with a man like Morgan to remind him of his humanity, perhaps Rick could avoid such a fate.

Sorry for my lack of detail, but does anyone else start thinking, like me, that there has been a 'specific zombie' I've seen in every series?
He got a close up in the parade towards the latter part of the episode.
I swear he keeps popping up!
In the programme that was on after the episode - The Talking Dead - they discussed various zombies and the mechanics of their disintegration. One of the people talking was the director (I think) and he said that the zombie who got caught on the truck and was ripped open had been in the show from the beginning. He said he had been the one who killed Dale. If I remember correctly that one would have been destroyed. But since it is obviously the same batch of actors playing the zombies you will see the same ones over and over.

The BEST solution would be to reinforce the barricade, then throw fire torches in from various angles. The fire would soon spread across every walker and burn them all up. Opening it just leads to problems... One, the walkers can just walk back. Two, the reason there's so many survivors for Alexandria to hunt for is because the area is bare of walkers...not any longer. Third, that was a lot of walkers, even for ones building up for a while. Likely they come from a concentrated population block, and more will keep going the now OPEN route.

Remember when they first came to Alexandria? The area leading to the entrance there was like some massive walker horde zone. The hell happened to that...?

Aaron being missing from the plan...an experienced ally with walkers, trusted by Rick's group character NOT involved with the plan? WHAT? Even Carl was mostly absent other than a short "comfort the girl" scene. Just weird like when Gabriel/Eugene vanished with ZERO mention last season, even when they had group get-togethers.

I can guess what will happen to Nicholas. Not spoilers, but possible hints, so don't click if you don't want to...
Spoiler

I'm just going by his missing stint on Teen Wolf, but I doubt he'd be missing so long if he was only on a few episodes of TWD, so I doubt it's Gabriel ringing an alarm. Probably is the Wolves. I thought the episode was odd, since the trailer
Spoiler

I do wonder what info about walkers Rick's group has shared with them. Like do they know to keep the hell away from silver eyes? With such a large herd it's guaranteed to have at least one, right?

I got fed up with black and white flashing back and forward, I turned it off half way through, I will come back to it though at a later date.

Disappointed with the episode, can't say why as I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's because it's the same thing over and over I'm not sure.

Don't understand the negativity from some people. The episode was fine. The flashbacks were irritating by the end but only because the scenes in real time were so short.

I think people just can't watch TV in weekly episodes these days they are spoilt with Neflix etc and can binge TV. Watching Walking Dead is exactly what TV should be like! - its is frustrating to wait for more and gives us all time to digest what we have watched.
