I might have missed it, but what was the plan with the zombies? I mean where were they leading them all? Think the easier option would have been building a wall, make some molotovs and burn them.

But I'm not complaining, I really enjoyed the return of this, no one does tension like TWD, loved it.

Still better than letting them all out lol.

Idea was just to herd them down the road for 20-30 miles, and then once they were walking in one direction they would just keep walking. Didn't seem very likely, the ones at the end would just drift away. Still, probably the best they could do with a dozen competent people and thirty-odd morons.

I thought a better idea would have been to lead them over that cliff ,like a game of lemmings ,there'd be some pile at the bottom eventually mind you lol

This was the safest way to deal with them though, they had to deal with them quickly as the blockade in place wasnt gonna hold forever (obviously it gave way after saying this) as they said in the episode that some seem to have missed, bombs would create too much noise that would attract even more walkers or other groups.”

I wouldn't have bombed, but burning could've been a possibility IMHO. I'm not convinced it was the safest way.....even less so now they're wandering toward Alexandria

I do wish they would keep it simple rather then trying to join a current scene with a flashback.. With all the flashbacks it was confusing keeping up with what was happening. Whatever the outcome I think the group will find it difficult to trust Rik again. His leadership will be fully tested once the carnage is over.

There were some great one liners.

...this mirrors his other famous line when they were trapped in the container at Terminus: "....they don't know who they're dealing with", or something along them lines!!

I enjoyed Rick using Morgan's “I ask, you answer; it's common courtesy" line back on him.

Great to see the show back, and a top-notch premier. It was nice to see most characters dealt a fair share of screen time too. Certain developments leave me with a bad feeling for Abraham (or some more sod who's silly enough to be in his company when he has another tinfoil moment, although it's nice to see Sasha on the perk up. And Tara speaking, for that matter. In general, it's good to see the broader cast mixing with each other a little more. Maggie's affection for Tara was a nice touch in establishing some further bonds between these characters, and it was enjoyable to see Nicholas now in full-time Glen's bitch setting. Not a huge fan of all the new characters continuing over from season five. Spencer is a bit of a non-entity, and no offence to the actress, but Jessie is a bit of a by the numbers role. I'm not really fussed what happens to her, and I certainly don't buy into anything deeper so far between her and Rick.

I liked the arrival of Heath though. They've cast that role well and he's a good pairing with Glen. Looking forward to the arrival of Merrit Weaver too. Hope she's rocking crocs.

Rewatched the episode and I'll be surprised if Abraham doesn't die pretty soon. He's taking too many risks and saying too many things about "being alive" and the type of stuff that soon-to-be dead tv characters say to last too far now.

When they got them 20 or 30 miles away - what were Daryl, Abe and Sacha going to do? Put on their slippers and walk very slowly back to Alexandria?

I thought the whole idea was a bit daft.

they were driving at walking pace to keep the herd just behind them.........when they were far enough away they would have sped off then circled back

Presumably go a bit faster than 4 MPH and then take a different route back.

Or maybe they were going to take them all the way to the Coast and let them walk in to the Sea.

Once they got to the coast they could have had a boat ready for the Walkers to follow.

If they kept going long enough they would be Europe's problem.

What's special about ones with silver eyes? I just did a search, and nothing came up.

I don't see why they'd have to watch the boss lady because of that. Maggie was being nice and saying they needed to look after her while she was still in shock and grieving over the death of her husband, and I figured the other reason was in case she turned on them, as she had just before he died.

Yes, she was there. She was one of the several people told to stay in Alexandria and keep watch. If the horn was sounded because the Wolves attacked, it might have been her that sounded it. She wouldn't know the zombies were out. Today was supposed to be a dry run.

That said, any kind of siren seems like a bad idea when zombies are attracted to sound.

They could use a bow and arrow. They had plenty of time, supposing they could shore up the barricades as and when needed.

She was doing it from when they first met the Alexandrians, because she didn't trust them. She hopes they'll underestimate her, giving her an edge, if it ever becomes necessary.

Thank you so much. Really appreciate this reply.

Third, that was a lot of walkers, even for ones building up for a while. Likely they come from a concentrated population block, and more will keep going the now OPEN route.

Remember when they first came to Alexandria? The area leading to the entrance there was like some massive walker horde zone. The hell happened to that...?

Aaron being missing from the plan...an experienced ally with walkers, trusted by Rick's group character NOT involved with the plan? WHAT? Even Carl was mostly absent other than a short "comfort the girl" scene. Just weird like when Gabriel/Eugene vanished with ZERO mention last season, even when they had group get-togethers.

I can guess what will happen to Nicholas. Not spoilers, but possible hints, so don't click if you don't want to...
Spoiler
He'll likely save a certain person in a certain scene, biting the bullet himself.

I'm just going by his missing stint on Teen Wolf, but I doubt he'd be missing so long if he was only on a few episodes of TWD, so I doubt it's Gabriel ringing an alarm. Probably is the Wolves. I thought the episode was odd, since the trailer

shows everyone at Alexandria hiding from walkers.

The imagery of this really made me laugh. You would have some people wanting to tow the boat away arguing against 'zombie rights' activists whilst Dave promises a Euro referendum

Suits me. Us on the UK mainland are nice and protected by the English Channel, Irish Sea and North Sea.

Correct me if I am way off the mark here, but Is Alexandria the estate in Fear the walking dead ? It was mentioned in this episode that Reg started the plans on the walls before the virus properly took holdof everything...in FTWD they got lucky as their 'town/ estate ' was sectioned off with barriers and large walls....
just a thought..or are they located in totally different areas ?

I enjoy the series a lot.

But, and it's a big but, more and more of the narrative is driven by
"let's do something really stupid".

Rick shot the only doctor, people would have shot him instead in a heartbeat, I would have.
So when do we see the follow up and one of the mainstays really needs a doctor?

The zombies were in the quarry, and had been for years(?), but within a day of them first being seen, the barricade that's keeping them there is breached, while they are watching??
Come on...............

It all seems to be going a bit "the only way to survive is to kill lots and lots of people".
So far Rick and his little gang have spread death and mayhem wherever they end up. The baddies have had to be painted more and more "bad" because the contrast with Rick et all is one that Rick wouldn't necessarily win if it were judged on "who keeps more non zombies alive".

Alexandria was doing pretty well........then they bumped into Rick.
The head woman lost her son and huband within days.
Nonsense about a battered wife that ends up with the DOCTOR husband being shot.
A silly plan to get a machine part killed off a few.
Ordered to repair/build some new wall, that killed a few more.

Seriously, if it's up to Rick, humanity is doomed.

That's just the problem, they couldn't, that day was supposed to be a dry run because they knew the cliff walls could collapse at any time, which they did and so the dry run turned into a proper run which they weren't expecting to do yet. So they wouldn't have had time to kill them gradually over weeks or months with bows and arrows.
