As an aside, does anyone else struggle to pick up on names of the characters in TWD? It doesn't really impact on my enjoyment of the show but reading this thread I barely recognised any of the character names. I guess it's because the characters are fairly simple, there's not a great deal of in depth dialogue and many of them are short term fixtures.”
I'm the same, regarding the names. I figure I'll learn them if I hear them enough or the character has enough impact on the show for them to become pivotal, even for a short period of time. I'm too old to learn every name

I have many more spoilers for anyone interested.”
This is not a complaint, I have nothing against spoilers whatsoever. My question is - what do spoilers do for you and others who seem to seek out every little bit of information about this show (and other shows being watched) before it's aired. What does that do for you?
Is it that you just can't wait to find out what's going to happen?
Is it that you enjoy feeling you have 'insider knowledge' that the average viewer doesn't have or seek out? I know there's a large community of people who do this, I always presumed it's a kind of kudos/one-upmanship thing.
Is it that you don't really enjoy or are unable to simply watch a TV show and letting it happen as it happens?
Is it just that you're young and feel the impatience of youth that everything MUST happen before it happens, that you become bored after 10 seconds without any action?
Are you the same at the cinema, fidgety and unable to sit through 90 minutes of film?
I have always been curious as to what motivates a person to spoil something for themselves, to be unable to just watch something unfold as it does and just enjoy it as it happens. I'd love to know your thoughts, I'm genuinely curious
As I said, I have nothing against spoilers, I still enjoy the show whether I know what's going to happen in advance or not, I just choose not to seek out the information myself - I'm not quite that desperate, for want of a better word

(no offence intended!)
What is it YOU get out of spoilers?
