But why does James assume he's the one in the right? he never listens to them.

Why, because he's James. He's perfect, don't you know?

I don't think he does assume he's right, but he is right that they don't listen. He's been observing them, not just in rows with him but with others as well.

I can understand James walking away when/if they shout and scream at him , but even when they sit and ask him calmly James doesn't answer.... he walks away .

They don't listen in the same way he doesn't listen. What James does in a "conversation" is wait until the other person stops talking, and says what he was thinking about while they were talking. He doesn't "respond" to what they've said.

Austin and Jenna do not let Austin get a word in...they both shut him down.

If someone kept interupting me everytime i tried to speak, i would walk away too. There is no point talking to someone if they refuse to listen.

In the instance you're talking about he was desperately trying to answer their question and put his side over. Both Jenna and Austin continually spoke over him and would not allow him to speak - THEY WERE NOT LISTENING. I'm not sure what some of you were watching but it was crystal clear that they simply weren't listening.

Both Jenna and Austin like the sound of their own voices too much.

James was 100% right there.

He allows them to speak.

well they seem to be fine now

10.01pm: We're back. James is having a deep and meaningful with Jenna. He says he's a "loner".

As if. James lets them speak, they never let him speak.

He may come across as preachy when talking, but that's better than exploding. Some people react to conflict in different ways.

What James says usually is correct, he was right about every single time he has pulled up on Austin's behaviour.

he has also pulled Janice up on hers..

He has to do that because he's lying and not very good at lying.

I must be watching a different programme than anybody who thinks James nominating Austin does not make him a two faced little weasel, that is indefensible. And Janice little act to get to read her letter as we say in Scotland would gie you the dry boak (which translated is when you have been sick so much that you are still heaving but there is no sick left to come up)

They'd need to stop talking for him to do that which in Jenna and Austin's case, never happens.

Hear hear.

I strongly dislike self righteous people, and James is that character.

OP is correct. James' righteous indignation is so transparent. He's totally pandering to the audience trying to play the hero and defender of poor vulberable others. It's working

They do not listen & Farrah did not listen. They employ what can only be called 'playground tactics' to out shut and talk over the person they are arguing with. Its is so juvenile and immature.

Contrast their style of 'discussion' with James, Bobby, Sherrie and even Stevie, its very clear they think that shouting the loudest can win an argument. It does not, it never has and never will.

The tactic of 'Answer yes or no' may work well in a courtroom movie but in the real world don't try to limit my response to a one word answer, that's trying to put words in my mouth.

The way someone handles discussion, argument and confrontation says volumes about their maturity and respect for others. Austin and Jenna have a lot to learn but it is doubtful they will ever change.

James doesn't listen either. He was just preaching and purposely ignoring the point of their questions, which is why he kept being "interrupted".

James does listen. When he speaks, he repeats and expands on stuff that others have said. He listens a lot. Austin and Jenna, not so much.
