Wow, what an episode!

Austin fan here but I was absolutely disgusted by his outburst towards Janice - that was beyond bad. But then his breakdown in the DR made me cry. I knew about his brother dying but I don't know the background to the story about his mom being in jail. He needs to seriously work on his temper & realise that it's not ok to speak to people like that but I'll admit I still have a soft spot for him. I wanted to hug him when he came out of the DR. Good on Bobby for being so sweet.

Did you notice that when Austin was crying there were no tears, he's learnt that from Chloe.

Had he apologised to Janice I'd have a little more time for him. Apparently that would have been too much to ask though.

It's nice to see a shamelessly honest post. Thanks for sharing. I felt for Austin too. It's obvious he has deep rooted issues. I honestly hope he can come to terms with them.

Austin shouldn't have been asked to participate in this series if I'm honest. I quite like him (excluding his C-bomb outbursts) but after someone's buried their brother and watched their mother go to prison the last thing they need is to go into that high pressured environment for "entertainment". He should be at home with his family

He obviously has deep rooted issues and the bb house is the cruelest environment you could put someone like Austin into.

You could see Austin was in genuine pain about the loss of his brother and his mom being in prison. As he said he was using that anger to keep him going otherwise he just breaks down. Thinking he had found a friend in James and then losing him was probably why he lashed out so angrily with Janice.

There was no excuse for his behaviour and felt no sympathy at all. He behaves like he is the centre of the universe....

Yeah, that was one of the hardest things to watch on Big Brother. Made me a bit emotional. It's horrible to see someone just break down completely.

Apart from a few little snippets I've not watched this series - tonight was the first HL show I've seen, so I don't know all the history of what's gone on.

From what I saw tonight I'm absolutely astonished that Austin has any support at all, not that any of the others seemed particularly likeable either. I don't doubt that his emotions about his brother and mother are genuine, however wtf has that got to do with him being nominated and how is it an excuse for the way he ranted at Janice ? It seemed to me he knew he'd made a complete arse of himself so deliberately dug deep inside to dredge up his feelings about his family as his 'get out of jail' card to gain sympathy and get him out of a tight corner. I've never ever seen anyone sink so low over being nominated that they'd use such things to try and excuse their own monstrous behaviour.

I feel the same. I haven't been an Austin fan either and totally disagreed with how he has treated certain hms, but that DR entry upset me too. It's so easy to make excuses for bad behaviour but sometimes people really do come from a dark place. They put up defences, sometimes in a negative way, or go in the opposite direction and are the life and soul but are breaking inside. Again not a fan of Bobby, but he was the only one who immediately stepped forward, so kudos to him.

She stole more than half a million dollars from her employers. Poor him.

He's vile.

The fact that I cried doesn't mean that I support Austin's behaviour in anyway at all but I still found it emotional.

He was upset at being nommed and potentially not reaching the final. He used the excuse of his brother and mother to justify his ridiculous and horrible behaviour towards other people. If it was about his mother and brother, why has h not broken down before now? In explaining his outbursts when he and James were talking he didn't say h it was about his family, but he was going on about going out two days before the end.

Anyway, why do the other HMs have to constantly justify their nominations to Austin and the poisonous Jenna?

Yes, I didn't believe in his tearful breakdown either. Fake!
