![]() I noticed that when Austin came out of the diary room in a mess Bobby did the right thing there, and I was never his fan. Then Sherrie and Natasha showed some compassion as well. But James? No expression on his face. Still reeling out the predictable and cold salesman spiel about understanding Austin. Going by what darkness Austin was getting into in the diary room I very much doubt that James understands. |

It you recall Austin had just insulted him. He was not going to run up and give him hugs and kisses. To say James felt nothing is to misread the situation.
It was something between getting fed up with Austin's childish needy egotism, and seeing if he could find it within himself to forgive him. I have no idea if Bobby was being genuine or not (my guess is that it was genuine) but he did not have the same emotional engagement with the situation as James. It was just another row to him. To me he looked completely blank, not concerned nor even disdainful, just completely utterly void of any feeling whatsoever. |

James felt nothing for Austin when he saw him breaking down, even Natasha showed some compassion but James just sat there. He has used him and won't even care if he leaves tomorrow night as that means some of the competition is gone.

James "I saved Janice because I know how much she means to Chloe" Hill.
Or maybe it was James "I saved Janice because I saw it as an opportunity for Stevi to step up and take control" Hill Wonder which "genuine guy" nominated Austin. |

If I was Austin I'd find it hard to resist the temptation to say to James during one of his 'Big I am' speeches if he'd prefer it if I left the room so he could talk directly to the camera himself.
I can't remember the last time a housemate had so many conversations that sounded like contrived, prepared speeches, made directly to the viewing public rather than the person he's actually talking to. Everything is an Apprentice-style board room pitch. It's so transparent. I think they can see how phony it is... they just don't want to face the truth that the baby faced cherub they've been cooing over all series is not the straight up nice guy they thought he was... he is a sneaky snake oil salesman who would sell his own 'Grandad' out

Tactical , Austin was in the top 4
![]() Nothing wrong with playing the game but own it James I really wish Chloe had pulled him up for saving Janice by saying she would like to have done so herself as a thank you. He took that from her. |

I don't think you can say categorically that anyone is misreading the situation unless you are inhabiting James' head.

It was funny at the end tonight. Austin knew James was getting rid of the competition and asked how being thrown out just before the final was for his own good? James patronized him with the old "I don't think you're going anywhere" rubbish and Austin asked but what if he does go tomorrow.? Ice cold and with a little smirk, James said, "Then you'll deserve it."

Someone said he was a Northern Patrick Bateman yesterday or the day before. It's funny because it's true (though also slightly scary)
