The Editing Was So Dodgy On Last Night's Show

.... Jumping into conversations half way through & cutaways where they'd be fine one second then angry the next.

No wonder there were no proper clips of the arguments online until the highlights, only the teaser which they didn't end up showing half of what was on it (Jenna crying in the kitchen, being comforted by Natasha after & row with James that he went on to apologize for the next morning yet we didn't even see).

Soooo dodgy & one sided to make Austin & Jenna look like unreasonable lunatics & James (& Natasha) who started the whole thing with their backstabbing nomination's look justified & virtuous in their skullduggery (obviously to a lesser extent Natasha as she isn't as close to them as James is).

I don't think Natasha's nomination was backstabbing at all, jenna has said terrible things about Natasha and Austin has been extremely rude to almost everyone and shouted and had hissy fits all over the show, so why is it back stabbing to nominate them plus, the americans have been the most patriotic and team focused the whole time, so why shouldn't Natasha nominate the Americans for the last eviction. Why should she have to justify it to them. She seems to get on with all the Brits so not going to nominate them and Janice was the other choice and I am sure she is annoying to live with but less horrendous to live with than Jenna and Austin who have caused most of the tension.

As for James, he is close to Jenna and Austin, so on the one hand it was back stabbing and I can understand them calling him out on it and asking him to explain, but is it the same as Austin hating Farah for the first 2 weeks and then feeling bad about evicting her on Friday because the last few days she has been nice. Isn't that the same as James liking Austin for 2 weeks and then not liking him the last few days for being rude, obnoxious and aggressive to the whole house including him. Can't people change their minds about someone? I think he genuinely likes all of them and definitely gets on with Natasha and Bobby who have been the other slightly confrontational people so wasn't going to nominate them. Austin has been horrendous for the last week, so why do you have to be loyal to someone who a third of the time you have known them has been a total dick.

SIGH. There WERE no backstabbing nominations.

Really. Very long and slow exhalation of breath...

Tell that to the James' knife in Austin's back.

With Natasha I included her in my OP mainly for her Austin nomination. Austin seemed shocked as he seemed to think him & Natasha were friends & kept saying to her puzzled 'I have never done anything bad to you'.
It seemed odd that Natasha picked Austin over Chloe/Stevie or Janice as we have seen Natasha express her dismay at the way Chloe/Stevie & Janice have been carrying on to Sherry & Austin himself several times.

Is the Austin & James situation really the same as the Austin & Farrah one?
Up until a few days ago everyone was making out that the James & Austin Bromance was the greatest love story ever told... Friends 4 Eva!!!
But now James has suddenly took a hatchet to it everyone (the James groupies) is dismissing it like it was no big thing

It's so funny

I'm glad they at least showed Austin in the diary room and his apology later. It's not going to be enough to satisfy most of the viewers as they've already gone with the flow of the edit but personally I was pleased to see it. How can it not be Jenna and Austin gone tonight Still at least I can give up on this rubbish a few days early

I think the edit has been protecting Austin a fair bit actually. Natasha's outburst and Bobby's "evict this man now" thing proved that he has done this a lot.

There is a lot of things we have seen in clips that weren't shown on the HLs with Austin.

BiB - it doesn't prove anything of the sort. Their motivations could just as easily be grandstanding as genuine. Bobby's not averse to taking a leaf out of the Jim Davidson 'I miss my family please find a place for me in the daytime schedules sniff sniff' book, after all.

WHY do people both on here and in the house want HM's to justify their nominations.

They all get to nominate - they all have their reasons.

It never ceases to amaze me that people are happy enough to nominate but get angry and uptight when they themselves are nominated.

Because it's part of the show. The drama, the intrigue, the backstabbing, the confrontations, the game-playing. It never ceases to amaze me how placid and boring people want the house.

"I nominated you"

"ho hum, let's have tea. Two sugars?"

No it didn't!! How did it? Just because Bobby said to evict him!!

Natasha said he was a 'shouter' and didn't listen to anybody, she hasn't actually said nothing really derogatory about him. Bobby got all moralistic after James came out of the bedroom telling them all what Austin was saying to Janice.....'Bobs'( Like James ) went on a good guy points scoring palava.

Austin reappears from the DR in tears and Natasha and Bobby are telling him they actually do love and care for him!

Sherrie has yet to say a bad word against him!! Well I haven't heard her, I stand to be corrected.

Penny, if we ever find ourselves on BB the way to nominate is to behave like it's the most painful thing since childbirth. I caaaaan't, I just caaaaan't, they're all my friends, don't make me do it Big Bruvva etc.

Bonus points for crawling out of the diary room on hands and knees with decorative barking sobs.

On a broader point, editing can make a lot of difference to public perceptions, not just by cutting out bits but by showing scenes in a different order. I noticed this when there was a lot of live feed for BB and I'm a Celeb.

I don't like James, but I have to defend him here.

James did not back stab anyone.
The only two HM he could have nominated was Austin and Jenna as they're the only HMs he's had arguments with in the past week. James has been given no reasons to nominate any of the other HMs.

James does not owe Austin & Jenna any loyalty. They've both been horrible to James since Friday's eviction.

Full and frank reasons Penny

Really though isn't it an essential element of the wider debate we tend to have on here? Is the HM lying. Are they 'playing a game', manipulating the other HMs or the viewing public.

Wondering about reasons not actually broached in the nomination is surely our bread and butter.

It's actually designed to take all 4 out of the competition. Hence all the "aren't they cute" Stevi and Chloe footage...

True

It's the HM's whingeing on and on that drives me mad - I suppose I'm comparing to the past and in fairness they never used to know who'd nominated them - nominations were secret. I wish they'd return to that - the suspicion, intrigue and paranoia is far better TV than the tantrums and aggression that has become commonplace.

True. HMs have become very precious of late and Jenna in particular ridiculous. I even noticed Janice aiming a dig at Sherrie for nominating her when Janice was in the diary room. She said if Sherrie had a problem why didn't she come to her

Talking of the past though I remember Mel getting really upset when she over heard Darren nominating her which proves it's the hearing of it that causes the problems. BB love theses problems unfortunately.

I did laugh a bit at how quick some things went. Austin was bawling and hyperventilating and Bobby goes "We'll make a cup of tea"... and the next scene was literally a steaming cup of tea. Bobby must make tea at lightening speed or keep one tucked away for emergencies at all times. You can't beat Bobby when it comes to making tea!

I think that James is a snake, after all he sleeps in the same bed as Austin every night but then nominates him, surely if you were that upset with a so called mate you would move beds!

I don't think Natasha is bad because she's not as close to Austin and gave perfectly good reasons for nominating him!

They only have 40-odd minutes to fit it all in. I guess last night's HLs was one of the hardest to put together this series. I reckon Ch5 should allow them room for a couple of extended HLs shows per series if it all kicks off. I remember on Ch4 they had some changes to the schedule and slightly extended HLs the odd time.
