Excellent. I have a couple of bottles of free trade kosher organic vegan low fat dairy free red wine hidden away.

The garage is integral so she has her own 'wing' but can still be part of the main house - great for when the family come and visit.

As a family we have always 'looked after our elderly' - my mum lived next door to her parents and elderly aunts and uncles were all near by and taken care of. It's only fair that we take good care of her now - I know not everyone can do it - we are very lucky to be in the position to do so.

I'm sure lots want to but it's not always easy to do.”

I'm not so sure lots want to do it, not from my experiences anyway but kudos to you and your family penny, it is a great thing you are doing.

Aww, that's so sweet apologising, Penny. No need though, we all go through our grumpy stages.

You may have already, but make sure you contact CarersUK (although there are some really good regional ones as well). They give really great advice and support. I was a carer for a family member for years. Sometimes it's so confusing knowing what support you are entitled too or what practical things for the house are available or would be beneficial. Unfortunately carers are always so reluctant to ask for help (me included!), as they feel they are letting their family member down, which is so silly when you're doing so much already.

I don't think so. They spent the night there the other night as Calum is on the rampage again, so thought it safer they were out of the way.

In fact, last week Audrey topped and tailed with Gail at Gail's house. Which I think in fact, is now David's house. How he earns enough to pay a mortgage I'll never know LOL!

What a delightfully funny thread.

I thought at first that 'having the builders in' was a euphemism for ..well you know... I thought why on eart6h is Penny apologising for that. Then as I read down it was like dropping into the soaps forum I don't watch soaps any more but am delighted to know those two up, two down terraces can still hold so many residents.

I haven't noticed anything snippy about you Penny. In fact dare I say I the forum generally has been really very pleasant through this series. Odd moments here and there but generally the standard of debate and courtesy has been better than usual I think. Today I posted on a thread where people were saying things like, Oh I am sorry I misinterpreted you or Its lovely to have another point of view (even though I disagree with it ) and lets agree to differ. It will shoot right down hill now I have said that.

Good luck with the building and your mum Penny. x

Not me, I don't have favourites.
What I see is people lying, exaggerating and being rude to defend their opinion based on some futile fandom or a forum allegiance.
People simply become too attached to either HMs or FMs.

'looks innocent' I have no idea what you mean Anth. Care to explain

Yes, the houses in Corrie are like a Tardis it would appear. Come one, come all, there seems to be ample room.

Just curious, and I'm honestly not trying to instigate anything, but has the idea that you might be wrong on certain things ever occurred to you?

The answer to the Syrian migrant problem perhaps. All those terraced streets in Manchester should be able to house thousands.
